Let put tracking radios on them, and require liability insurance...is that so hard. That way my 2.6 million dollar jet engine is paid for when I ingest your drone when it's in my airspace instead of yours...does that sound fair?

In the 'old days' a new hobby would spring up that would be 'counter-measures'. I can see why TPTB would want that to remain a 'black-art' only they have access to.

While their at it, why not regulate how high we can fly a kite?

Partial:
Part 101 -- Moored Balloons, Kites, Unmanned Rockets, and Unmanned Free Balloons.
Subpart A -- General
S101.1 Applicability
(a) This Part prescribes rules governing the operation, in the United States, of the following:
(1) Except as provided for in S101.7 of this Part, any balloon that is moored to the surface of the
earth or an object thereon and that has a diameter of more than 6 feet or a gas capacity of more
than 115 cubic feet.
(2) Except as provided for in S101.7 of this Part, any kite that weighs more than 5 pounds and is
intended to be flown at the end of a rope or cable.
(3) Any unmanned rocket except --
(i) Aerial firework displays; and
(ii) Model rockets --
(a) Using not more than 4 ounces of propellant;
(b) Using a slow-burning propellant;
(c) Made of paper, wood, or breakable plastic, containing no substantial metal parts, and
weighing not more than 16 ounces, including the propellant; and
(d) Operated in a manner that does not create a hazard to persons, property, or other aircraft.
(4) Except as provided for in S101.7 of this Part, any unmanned free balloon that --
(i) Carries a payload package that weighs more than four pounds and has a weight/size ratio of
more than three ounces per square inch on any surface of the package, determined by dividing the
total weight in ounces of the payload package by the area in square inches of its smallest surface;
(ii) Carries a payload package that weights more than 6 pounds;
(iii) Carries a payload, of two or more packages, that weighs more than 12 pounds; or
(iv) Uses a rope or other device for suspension of the payload that requires an impact force of more
than 50 pounds to separate the suspended payload from the balloon.
(b) For the purposes of this Part, a "gyroglider" attached to a vehicle on the surface of the earth is
considered to be a kite.

I have had a fighter jet doing Mach 1 come in twenty feet over my car parked at an intersection coming as low as he could over the highway. I have seen them rip the tops out of our trees.
Mach 3 blew out the windows in our house.

No you have not. #1 most aircraft can't do mach 1 at that level #2 It is Illegal to fly faster than 250 Kias below 10'000 feet.

He didn't say it accelerated to Mach 3 at that level. The aircraft could've boom and zoomed. Very dangerous maneuver to go diving at the ground at Mac 3 but possible with AI-assisted fly-by-wire.

Crap, was that just Mach 2. That is so freaking LOUD. I posted an accident from early jet experiments on here years ago. Here is to the folks who don't go down in history, who took the risks and didn't make it. may there be an open sky for them, somewhere beyond all this.

Technically, not in an active MOA or Restricted Airspace. When I worked at "Areas" North of Las Vegas, I observed many planes buzz by at supersonic speeds during Operation Red Flag exercises in the Nevada Test and Training range.

My father flew in B-58's and the flight crew broke a low-level coast to coast flight time record.

The bill they are voting on is 1200+ pages long.

There is no way they even read the thing. The Senators just listen to what other people tell them. And the people with the most money have the loudest voice.
