Ambrosia Medical: Controversial New Clinic to Offer "Young Blood" Transfusions to the Elderly

Stanford Medical graduate Jesse Karmazin recently launched Ambrosia Medical, a startup clinic that offers older people transfusions of blood from young donors, in the hopes that the procedure will help conquer aging by rejuvenating the body's organs.

Because blood transfusions are already approved by the Food and Drug Administration, Ambrosia is able to offer the service as an off-label treatment. Although the company has not yet settled on a commercial price for the procedure, participants involved in a 2017 trial program paid $8,000. The company plans to open its first clinic in New York City by the end of this year.
