It appears this story has been around for about a year. Several sources say it didn't happen. I don't believe Snopes but there are others who also claim this is a false story.

I never met a pit bull that wasn't a big baby. Trusting & loyal to the end. They can be trained to fight, any animal can, they are just built better for it than most with their locking jaws & stocky build. They're much better suited to babysitting though.
