Thank you soooo much. Had no idea you knew/know so much about me, and you couldn't be more right. This whole process has changed, and humbled me in ways I can't explain in words, and still is. I've never had to ask for help like this before, took a lot of pride swallowing to that, and a friend to convince me that I was deserving of asking. I've been very blessed in my life, not with material things, but blessings of the soul.

It sounds like a scam, but rest assured when you get a legitimate SSI Advocate, OP, he or she will (or should) should your SSI case. This is what I had to do for my SSI case. It took me about four years of hard work of proving myself to the various SSI doctors.

When they give you appointments to attend, OP, those are drop dead serious appointments. This one I found out the hard way, and by accident too. Just know you will almost always get denied the first time around. It can take more than a year before you're given what seems like a fair Judge hearing. For me, my Judge appointments were by Skype conference at my SSI Advocate's conference room.

The harsh truths about this SSI Benefits journey are this:

- You will despair.

- You will feel up to great rage and/or anger.

- You will empty, alone, and generally as though you're better off dead.

Those are most of the emotions I felt over the course of my SSI journey, OP. Disregard those who automatically rail against and/or rage against all Government Benefits, OP. Obama ruined this nation in alot of ways via phenomenally vast uncontrolled mass illegal immigration into the U.S. then practically forcing them all full U.S. Government Benefits from virtually every Government Benefit program available. Nearly every Government Benefits program out there is originally for us Americans. So as far as you're legitimate, OP, no harm in taking what you need to survive.

SSI/SSDI still denying me. GRR. My court comes up in Jan. Wish me luck. That took about 2 years just to get a court date. Get a SSI lawyer. SSI sent me a denial notice today. lol They just won't give up. Must know my court date is coming up.

yes a good lawyer for the ssi ssdi will help speed things up greatly and you wont have to pay out of pocket.
My lawyer took 20% OR 6000$ whichever was cheaper.
They should be able to help with the VA stuff too.

IDK if your in a big town or a small one but maybe you can get into a paper somewhere with a picture and generate some local interest in that way, especially since you served your country and now are being screwed over.
Check with Vet advocacy programs as well perhaps they can help. IDK Im just throwing ideas here. Will come back with links in a little while if I find anyone willing to help <3

I know you don’t know me at all, I don’t say much, I mostly read the information on here.. My husband has been in a very similar situation as you, he was becoming paralyzed two years ago he’s a mechanic and we are self employed, just him and I at our business, he had emergency surgery within 4 days of the surgeon seeing him.. I know what you and your family are going through, trust me,.. I applied for SSDI for him and was denied, I tried to apply for a recon because he had had another spinal surgery within 4 months after my first application, it was so confusing the second time around I almost gave up.. what we ended up doing was going to a SSDI attorney that my county case worker referred me to, we went to them and my husband was granted SSDI, yes they took a giant sum of money 3,600.00 out of my husbands first lump sum payment, but it was worth it in the end, we still have our home.. Sorry this is so long, I just thought I’d throw that out there to you to have an attorney give it a second shot if you are still within your timeframe to do a recon..

I've put everyone ahead of myself for most of my life. Every fight every soul goes thru is their own experience, and how they choose to handle it is their own path. I don't need you to tell me how to lead my life or what not to do for me to feel any differently about my choices. Trust me, Iknow all too well already. Have a great attorney, and I'm waiting on a hearing date now. The process is soooo effin shitty, it took it's toll on Cindy and I unfortunately. Not sure if we can repair things or not. That's how I came to the position I'm in today.

I listened to Trumps entire speech - about VA benifits. I bet you qualify for medical benifits! Sometimes it looks worst, right before it gets better. I am speaking as an advocate for my disabled sister, who just got approved for SSDI. Please don't give up - get to a health insurance counseling and advocacy program- they are located at your area agency on aging, and they serve low income, and disabled - (they are known as HICAP)
