Re: Long Time GLP Member In Serious Need Of Help
Just some advice here. I know in dealing with the VA it is
sometimes better to go to a Veterans Affairs Office and not
the hospital when trying to get things done.
The folks at the hospitals always seem overwhelmed and the case workers
are usually overloaded. The regional offices that are available for
just about anything you need with benefits are easier to deal
with. If you aren’t using a regional office you should try it and
resubmit through them.
It's Headley.

Just sent 10.
I'm not familiar with your situation, and to properly pray, please tell what injury or condition is the problem.
I too am an electrician, engineer, dedicated to helping others by making extremely complicated things work right.

March 19 I was assaulted, went over a railing, landed on my right cheekbone, paralyzed a week, 5 cervical vert fused, lotsa stainless steel screws.
Prayer from GLP and others got me back to work in just over 2 months. I had nothing but credit cards for continuing expenses.
I came dangerously close to being homeless. My son set up a contribution page, but shortly after it got bought up by GoFMe and sorta died.

ANYway.....,
as an electrician, you understand wiring in cables.
Understanding the problem is always the first step in troubleshooting.
Nerve=wire, and Myelin=insulation.

I didn't seem to have nerve damage but a lot of myelin damage. They did open up the cervical vertabrae side channels for the nerves even as they repaired the fractures.

Guess my point is that prayer put me back to work after full paralysis in only 9 weeks.

On the other side was fear of homelessness, losing my remaining personal possessions, and the hope of ever having my own home again.

No one told me it was impossible to heal that quickly, and I'm glad.

EDIT/ While I was in the sub-critical rehab I had to take an Uber out to the office of a sub-physcian involved in my initial treatment...and I asked how soon someone my age could expect to return to work..and she said she knew of no one my age that did.
Then I asked about ANY age, and she said "Maybe a year".
I said nothing, but decided
"Dammit, I can beat that. I gotta"

Many things are still quite difficult, but I give thanks for the many things I can do and enjoy, when I consider the majority that do not regain movement enough to be independent.

We can pray more accurately with knowing exact spinal locations and diagnosis, your exact description of pain and how it is a limitation.

Ha! Same questions as SSecurity, but these come that focused prayer might be an even greater help than $.

Hey Everyone! I haven't been on in a couple weeks, going through some very heavy family issues, and just haven't had the time to post or participate.

Many of you are aware of the serious spinal issues and numerous surgeries I've had in the last year. I'm still very much in the fight and am still facing more surgeries in the future. Unfortunately things have gotten a lot worse for me monetarily now as well. The VA cancelled my benefits stating my condition is now "work related" and the Cobra Ins Policy I had ran out in Sept. I'm still very far away from being able to work if ever, I've applied for SSI and SSDI and am fighting to get my VA bene's reinstated and increased, but both are very long processes and won't happen any time soon. I can't afford physical therapy, am barely able to cover daily living costs, and frankly I'm on the verge of being homeless.

I've started a GoFundMe campaign in hopes to raise some funds to cover ongoing medical costs, living expenses, keep a roof over my head, and if it goes well maybe even enough to buy an insurance policy.

I'm not asking anyone here to contribute, so many of you have problems of your own, what I am asking is if you could please share this on your social media pages, and with family, friends and co-workers. Obviously, the more it gets shared the more successful it will be, right! I'm not the type of person to do this, been on my own since I was 15, but I don't have any other options right now.

Thank you All in advance for any help you can give, and sharing the campaign that you can do, it's deeply appreciated! Thanks to Trinity the link is below!!

Hey brother, praying for you & spreading your link & will make a donation. If you're trying to get on SS disability, the fastest way is going through a lawyer, I've referred these guys to several family members & friends. Doing it by yourself almost always gets declined. Social security actually pays for your lawyers(no out of pocket for you) & these guys won't take your case unless they think they will win, if they take your case, you will be approved!!! Its almost a rigged system, no lawyer = no approval. I would not recommend them unless I was 100% sure of their record [link to benderandbenderlaw.com]

Re: Long Time GLP Member In Serious Need Of Help
Good Morning Everyone!

My apologies for disappearing yesterday, had unexpected company, by the time they left and it being the emotional day that it was I was completely wiped out and fell asleep. Didn't wake until 3am.

I'm seriously at a loss for words at the response to this, I knew we were the GLP Family we are, we argue, we laugh, we care, we help, we ALWAYS have plenty of great advice, but what I didn't expect is to feel all the love that I've felt since yesterday. I'm truly humbled by ALL of you and can't tell you in words how thankful I am for the help and all the support.

For the Starseeds and New Agers in the Family, the influx of positive energy that was being sent my way was absolutly incredible. I was resonating from head to toe all day. It was amazing, and I actually woke with a pineal gland headache this morning, lol. Seriously tho.

Going to try to answer every comment individually, but I wanted to get this out first.

Also, another big Thank You to you Trinity, without your help this wouldn't have been possible.

I listened to Trumps entire speech - about VA benifits. I bet you qualify for medical benifits! Sometimes it looks worst, right before it gets better. I am speaking as an advocate for my disabled sister, who just got approved for SSDI. Please don't give up - get to a health insurance counseling and advocacy program- they are located at your area agency on aging, and they serve low income, and disabled - (they are known as HICAP)

I didn't know that, ALL THANKS TO EVERYONE HERE!!!

This has been going on since May of 2016, the most recent and toughest surgery at the end of March this yr. My family and friends have already done all that they can so I didn't tell them I was doing this, I don't want them to feel that they haven't done enough, ya know. When you need help, when you can't take care of yourself the true souls in your life always shine for you, and God knows they already have for me. There was a few months that went by that I couldn't even brush my own teeth, I didn't get to this point alone.
