Hey SinX - finally got my taxes finished & it turned out better than expected!! Shocker!! I finally got to add to your collection. Hope you continue to see help coming your way.

Been a while since we chatted, for sure. Sorry to hear you've had such trouble. My world has been pretty stressful, but hanging in there. Everyone I know is saying the same thing, so guess I shouldn't complain!!!

Hang in there! Saying prayers that things start looking up for you! At least you know that your GLP family cares, and has your back! granny

Granny, you totally warmed my heart this morning. It's not just the help, although that's huge and get's a very heartfelt thank you, it's also the comfort and warmth your words and soul carry. It was a very tough few days, I woke this morning not even having the strength to log on and interact with people, just wanted to pull the covers back over my head and creep back into dream land. I'm damned glad I did the opposite, yours were the first words I read this morning, and they brought a smile to my heart.

They definitely care, and to see and feel the way they've had my back is truly humbling. What a beautiful blessing to have such a great group of friends from all walks of life, and all ends of the globe. We're very blessed, aren't we.

I've always felt a deep kinship to all my friends here, many have long been friends for life. I got BIG LOVE for ya Granny, thank you so much for being who you are, and being an inspiration for me this morning. I'm keeping you in my prayers, just as I am with everyone else here that's struggling, yet still dug deep and helped to make my life that much easier. Man, I'm just beside myself with all of this. hearts

Re: Long Time GLP Member In Serious Need Of Help
So, other than GLP and twatter, I'm really not on social media, I've pretty much exhausted any methods I have for spreading this campaign outside of those two platforms.

Do any of you have any ideas on how I might get this out to people that may not otherwise know of it?

I've been walking a treadmill everyday as part of my home physical therapy. I was thinking that I could take a short drive (I can't travel far) to other neighborhoods near me and canvas them by pulling out my walker and stopping at homes to drop a flyer in mailboxs, or maybe even knock on some doors. It can't hurt, right? hiding2

Seriously man?! You've done so much already Brother, thank you man, you have a huge heart, your family, friends and the world, well we're all very lucky to have you sir.

I saw that someone did when I logged on this morning, was gonna take care of it after I dropped a few bucks from the kitty on a pre-pay card. I have to wait until I have access to transportation though, which isn't often.

One of the worst parts of going through all of this was when I had to sell my badass, beautiful beast of an apocalypse truck name uh Lilith, she was my pride and joy. My sons have been after her for years, lol, unfortunately neither one had the means to buy her at the time. Man, I miss her more than I'll ever admit. Her sale gave my family a bit of time, and a Christmas last year tho so I felt good letting her go. I guess. verysad

Slayer, I have no words Brother. Like seriously having a lack of just what to say, which is waayyyyy outta the norm for me being I always run my pie hole, lol.

People make promises all the time, many are flippant and lack sincerity, but many are made in honor and kept, mine will reside in that context...my promise is this, just like you those words will be remembered by me throughout my journey, and what you've done for me and my family will also be remembered, and payed forward when it is my time to do so. On my honor. Thank you Brother.

Re: Long Time GLP Member In Serious Need Of Help
A quick update for everyone that's been following and wants to know...

As of this morning, with the GFM campaign and donations made directly from those that chose that route the total so far is at $4400!

Thank you All so very much. hearts

As far as using it goes, I haven't touched it as I'm a bit leery of making any moves just yet. I still had enough left in my bridge card to have food, and no bills have come due. I'm seriously brainstorming on how to use it to make more, but I haven't come up with anything that's low risk high reward. If anyone has any ideas on how I can make a few quick, and especially SAFE turnovers they'd be very welcomed. Right now my best idea is flipping some cars/trucks, people are getting their late tax returns and it's a good month or so before X-mas season really gets rolling. I have a very small amount in Bitcoin and I'm doing some day trading, but it's just too risky unless I can afford the loss.

On housing, I've been staying with my son for the last month or so, but it's a one bedroom apartment and I really hate cramping his style, lol. He's a 23yr old, very handsome single man that as a great career, is a total gentleman just like his old man, smart, very funny and just an all around great young man. I don't like impeding his lifestyle at all, been on his ass to find a good woman, and having his dad at home isn't gonna propagate that, at all, lol. He had to come home to live with me four years back, at the time I was single and had a one bedroom. I gave him my room and bed, and I took the couch. He made a promise to save as much as he could, and only stay as long as he needed to to save enough to get on his feet while he was starting a new career, and he did just that. Now he's done the same for me, said it was his honor, even gave me his room and bed, bout broke my heart. My medical needs are daunting at times, many mornings I can barely even dress myself, I really don't like putting all this stress on him.

Cindy has asked me to come back, to try to work things out, I just don't know, I'm really torn. The way it ended left a serious scar on my soul, and regardless of forgiveness I'm not one that ever forgets, and to be honest any trust I had of feeling safe was completely destroyed that night. My jury is out, the verdict nowhere near a decision.

On a beautiful note, it was my Mom's Birthday this past Sunday. She came to visit, and as we were talking I noticed that her hair was very dry and brittle, and looked in serious need of care. I asked her about it, she said she hadn't been to a salon in 20yrs, that she had been cutting it herself bcz she just can't afford to go, but she has tremors in her hands now and can't really cut it anymore. verysad I had already given her a card and her favorite chocolates as a small gift, but as soon as I heard that I knew I had to pay it forward and make someone else feel beautiful, so as soon as she left I called my girl and made her an appointment to get a treatment and a cut and style.

Knowing my situation she fought me on it, but in the end I won out and she kept the appt yesterday. She stopped by to show me her new look, she was so proud and happy that she was absolutely glowing!! She looked 20yrs younger, seriously, she was so beautiful that it made me cry, even thinking about it now is bringing tears to my eyes. So another big thank you to You All, if not for you my Mom would also have that much less of a smile today. hearts

Always have been that person, but that is a completely different aspect of appreciation that I was not doing. Bet that has changed my friend.

As far as paying it forward, that's part of my soul that's also always been present, and is a necessity. I've been very blessed in many ways in my life, and I've always helped out people in need whenever and wherever I could. Many times I've had the opportunity to do so when I've had almost nothing, am on hard times, and someone comes along that truly needs it. It feels incredible to be able to give in that moment. Now isn't that time, but when it shows itself again I'll be there, just as others have done for me.

That put a smile on MY face! Glad to know I cheered you up! It's amazing how the timing can work. I've had a few dark days over the past few months - the mind can take you to really deep dark places if you aren't careful. I hope this time of sharing & caring from your GLP family will help offset the stress, pain and dark feelings you've been going through.

Keep in touch, bro. PM me if you ever just want to chat. I try to get on here at least every other day, but life has been kind of busy lately. Would like to keep in touch, though. Hang in there! Lots of us out here who care!

I love this.
In his poem Human Pride, Marx admits that his aim is not to improve the world, reform or revolutionize it, but simply to ruin it and enjoy it being ruined:

With disdain I will throw my gauntlet full in the face of the world,
And see the collapse of this pygmy giant whose fall will not stifle my ardor.
Then will I wander godlike and victorious through the ruins of the world
And, giving my words an active force, I will feel equal to the Creator.

“Looking for consciousness in the brain is like looking in the radio for the announcer.”

Normalize every aberrant behavior, bring common all deviancy and let fly the reins of morality and reason, then welcome in that utopia that liberals embrace called communism, that which most Americans with but a shard of ethic would immediately recognize as evil.

So another big thank you to You All, if not for you my Mom would also have that much less of a smile today. hearts

Hey Danny! So wonderful you were able to uplift your mom on her birthday!! Good for the both of you really!! You only have one mom and no guarantee for how long. hf hugs

Hey Eva!! :Hugging:

It was truly wonderful to be able to do that for her, Mom has herself been thru some very serious hardships over the last few years, and to be able to have an opportunity to make her heart smile in that way is a beautiful thing.
