Re: Notes from an "Alternate Universe": Escaping the Matrix
Just wanted to pop in and say this information has been incredibly useful for years and I am very thankful for being able to bring my perception here (again)!
Quoting: bworkman708

Happy to hear that :) thanks for sharing!

With the mention of Blockchain on this topic specifically, would Tim Berners-Lee's new interpretation of the internet (Solid) be applicable? Seems as if tokenization would fit quite well with a model like this.

[link to solid.inrupt.com (secure)]

Solid is the technology that underpins a movement, being lead by Sir Tim Berners-Lee to re-orient the web to its original vision. To understand the ‘why’ of Solid, it’s important to understand the evolution of the web and how it’s diverged from Sir Tim’s original and inspiring vision.

The first web browser was also an editor. The idea being that not only could everyone read content on the web, but they could also help create it. It was to be a collaborative space for all mankind.

However, when the first browser that popularized the web came along, called Mosaic, it included multimedia and editing was taken out. It was considered too difficult a problem. This change was the first curtailing of the web’s promise and spawned an effort lead by Tim and others to get the write functionality back. It was dubbed the ‘read-write web’ and lead to Richard McManus' seminal article published in 2003.

Solid has taken 15 years of development work to finally deliver this.

The issue with writing data, as wikipedia and others have learned, is that you need a degree of control over who can write what. That means you need to have permissions - what can individuals do to the data. And to have permissions you need to have a system for identity - a way of uniquely confirming that an individual is who they purport to be.

At the same time the web was always designed to be a space for data as well as documents. The Linked Data Platform group formalized this further by creating a standard for working with file systems, which when combined with the Unix philosophy form a powerful way of achieving this. These two principles, of read-write capability and managed data accessibility are key to the original and potent concept of the web. They were unfortunately lost along the way as the web evolved.

Hence solid, based on existing web standards and the result of decades of work, Solid has read-write functionality, incorporating permissions and identity, along with data manageability and real-time updates via a websocket.

It realizes the web as originally envisioned and provides a platform for the next generation of truly empowering and innovative applications.

Quoting: bworkman708

This seems to be an extension of his partnership with Google, Microsoft, and others (through the Alliance for Affordable Internet). Solid appears to be a front for these outfits to control the flow of personal information and access. In other words, Wikipedia on steroids. It would appear that he's been compromised and might even work to sabotage his own project.

Re: Notes from an "Alternate Universe": Escaping the Matrix
Kore, can you expand on the significance of the Industrial Revolution in the splitting of worlds. What did it bring to the table?
Quoting: Cat Carel

This 'splitting' is more shorthand for other processes, namely an endless variety of possibilities that are independent of perception.

There is all ways bleed-through between possibilities, as each aspect interacts with other aspects that it is most relative to. A violin in one world, for example, will interact more with a violin in an other world than an emu in the same world. That's one level. At a deeper level, the violins are the same. At an even deeper level, there are no violins, only the perspective of something that is interpreted as violins.

These points of interaction are sometimes fewer and sometimes greater. The more interaction there is the less relationships there are. This is the efficiency of perspective.

Imagine that the turning of a bike wheel represented interaction over space, and the spokes of the wheel itself represented those interactions being focused on a relationship in time. If you increased the number of wheels (e.g., increased interactions) the spokes will begin to harmonize (e.g., decreasing relationships).

Like this:

This is an essential part of understanding timespace (space-time) and how things work within it.

Let's further imagine that each metronome in the video above represented different aspects of Earth working in unison to form the Earth that we know. Let's then say that, around the time of the Industrial Revolution, there was a decrease in interactions.

A simple way to think of how this might work is like this:

1750: 100 farmhands preparing 100 pounds of cotton manually
1795: 10 farmhands preparing 250 pounds of cotton with the cotton gin.

The token that was the cotton gin allowed an easier interface to far more cotton than manual labour alone could afford.

The substantial Chaos of the American Revolution evolved to an increase in Order with the Industrial Revolution a few years later. (This would cycle again a few years later than that as Chaos increased with the invention of the steam locomotive and people and businesses began to interact far more, decreasing with the War of 1812 and disruption in world trade, among other things.)

Decrease in interactions = metronomes synchronizing (expansion of time)

Basically, the Industrial Revolution caused a substantial increase in efficiency of production across the board. This decrease of interactions had the flip-side of an increase of relationships (which is an expansion of what we call time). This was a tremendous expansion of time which, you could say, resulted in far more space being squeezed into a single point in time: multiple Earths sprouting from the same timeline, you could say.

This happens a great deal, I think, but it's not something we notice because we perceive what makes sense to perceive. We are perceiving of events from other Earths right now but interpreting them in the context of this Earth. If someone slams the door to your house in Earth 12, for example, you might interpret it as the phone ringing in your perspective because that is more relative to what's going on right now.

Some of these Earths have separated enough so that they're far less related. Perhaps in one of these worlds the slamming door would be interpreted as jumping blocks of dust-bots, because that is most relative.

The increasing Chaos since we began these threads is intentional. It is encouraged and supported. Chaos for all, after all. These are the fingers flicking the metronomes in order to take Chaos overboard and introduce a kind of balance that would bring the disparate aspects of the Earths back into harmony yet again.

Scenario 1 [not-Nexus] I want a house and I will save up for 10 years for it.

Scenario 2 [The Nexus] I want a house and there is a man in Venice who has a book that used to belong to my father with information that will lead me to a piece of land I didn't know I had.

Using the Nexus we create things in order to communicate with ourselves. (Basically, what I was saying at the top of page 2)
Quoting: Kore

Are you implying that knowledge of this book was previously had?
Quoting: Cat Carel

You make it up as you go along. You just make something that is easier to perceive (more efficient to experience) than waiting 10 years.

Is the goal to physically track down this man and book?
Quoting: Cat Carel

If you make it up as you go along it could take as short or as long as you want. You're doing it anyway in this reality but the more we interface with perceptions with this kind of physicality the more time something will take.

When we decrease Chaos we also decrease the sense of space, which allows us to experience more things as 'here now' rather than 'over there, later' as the sense of time increased.

The Nexus would allow us to decrease our sense of space substantially, even moreso than the telephone, car, or internet has.

decreased sense of space = experience more units of space in less units of time <--- The Nexus, where thoughts can materialize near-instantaneously

decreased sense of time = experience more units of time in less units of space <--- this reality, where thoughts seem to take forever to materialize

How would you suggest using all this knowledge when it comes to investing in crypto or expanding finances?
Quoting: Cat Carel

Follow the dark lords to find the devil.

If you put on a pair of those fine sunglasses and see that XYZ website is one of countless dark lords then you can safely assume that anyone/anything they're promoting is a safe bet.

If two or more dark lords promote it, even better. They all receive instructions and guidance from the same sources.

Crypto is all about exchange of value, so follow value and see where it goes.

If you see PJW, MC, AJ, SM, BG, PR, BPS, EM, etc., shilling for ABC, for example, you can pretty much guarantee they've been instructed to do so. (You'd be surprised at just how many are dark lords, but that's another story.)

See who is behind interesting projects, then connect the dots.

Betting on the devil is always the safest bet. (At least until the 'messiah' betrays them, such as may begin this month to help usher in the Golden Age.)

Why do memes threaten the powers of those aspects of your perspective that control much of your perspective?

This is how we will transition successfully to the new physicality. By redefining what has been defined 'for' us, or by relating things together that we want less of in our reality.

You can redefine your reality by redefining the relationships that make up your reality.

The Nexus allows anyone to "control the flow of information and control the reality that the information comprises."
Quoting: Kore

Can you give an example of this - relating things together that we want less of?

Thanks.
Quoting: Lady of Stars

For example, if you want to eat less strawberry cake you can watch a video of a rat eating it, referring to it as "rat cake"

Here you would be re-defining what it means to you so that it takes more energy to perceive.

before: strawberry cake >> delicious >> I want it
after: strawberry cake >> rats >> delicious? >> do I want it? >> but rats!

Conversely, if you want more of something in your life you can make it so that it takes less energy, or interactions, to perceive. This could be as simple as moving closer to someone you love if you wanted them to be more a part of your life, for example.

Indeed.

"Jobs Not Mobs" for example. Complexity simplified into bite-sized morsels that can easily form relationships.

It is often said that "the left can't meme". This is because complexity can only produce more complexity (Chaos).

When these fine folks are building tech in Silicon Valley or producing for Hollywood or any number of other creative
(chaotic) pursuits it might seem like 'Order' on occasion (e.g., the internet, or "What the Bleep Do We Know?") but it is really just Chaos in disguise.

Hopefully very soon the below should make more sense.

But it should be obvious to many now: without BO there'd be no strong anti-perspirant to get rid of the stench of the Deep Stink.

Over the past few years we've seen many of these Deep Stink actors come to light, and much more of what's going on behind the scenes.

Although the current drama over the past 2 years has been a massive psy-op, they probably have no idea they've been digging their own grave all along. The Fool that they thought they chose has outsmarted them all.

Interesting times, indeed.

"All the world's a stage..."
Quoting: Chaol

2012 is when the lights come on, and the actors begin to be exposed for what they are.

It starts with the son of Malcolm Little (Shabazz) and his 60's fling and her extended family (all of these actors what you would call "CIA" and related operatives, each serving a grand purpose).

I mentioned previosly that "we apologize" for this figure but "it will make more sense later".

Now is the time.

When a fascinating story is exposed then the branches of it come to light, along with actors' multiple characters and scenes.

Your reality breaks down at this level, the stage crumbles. You no longer know what to believe.

"As above, so below"; the world that you thought you knew so well suddenly becomes mysterious.

The dream world opens. 'Truth' stranger than fiction.

Why does it happen?

The illustration of this unknown truth in physically-oriented exposures dictates the grandest illusion. Your perspective creates actors reading from this single script in response.

The more popular it is (seemily good or not) the more likely it is to be a child of this illusion. Be it Coke, McDonald's, Facebook, Google, current affairs, Gaga, or whatever the 'hottest' person or thing is. There is no conspiracy save for the illusion of your own perspective.

Welcome to the dream world.

Didn't you know you were already here?

(And could you imagine how 2012 would play out?)
Quoting: Chaol

Thank you Chaol. This post hits me right in the wheelhouse.

Plop plop fizz fizz oh what a relief it is.

What is the Dreamworld?

The first four dimensions of reality (three physical dimensions plus time, according to accepted science) help us to form an identity and navigate our reality. They allow us to trust our perspective. The fifth dimension (of this thread) helps us to expand our identity and navigate an expanded reality.

Quoting: Kore

Machines are not need for man to put information out there, it already in our makeup. No need for data or digits, no need of it, just in case you have not figured it out. Man has always put their thought in the air, and it just goes flowing to the next person who already needed that thought. Take invention of years ago, all done in are small time, all at the same timeline. This is the way it has always been. We do not need machines to do this, it already in our voice and thoughts, the magnetic field carries it all, we have a field around us, because of it, ours intertwine with others and it pushes all that is need to the next node so to speak a giant brain made up of mankind. There is timing gaps but not a long time, think of radio transmissions, that is similar.

We could all save a mint to close it down a bad creation a little at a time, and use the good parts as it should have been used, as a helping hand.

I have a penchent for collecting shot glasses when I travel, which is ironic since I don't really care for hard alchohol.

What I find interesting about the shot glasses is that most of the time when I look at it I can remember the circumstances of it's purchase as well as much of the rest of the trip that I took at the time.

Would thinking of the shot glass as a token be apropriate?
It seems that the glass is a little microcosm of the whole of that moment when it was purchased.

Not sure what my point is just rambling a bit.

Re: Notes from an "Alternate Universe": Escaping the Matrix
Why do memes threaten the powers of those aspects of your perspective that control much of your perspective?

Memes tokenize complex concepts into bite-sized morsels. One of the steps towards mass-tokenization of reality.

Control the flow of information, and you control the reality that the information comprises.

Control how words are defined and you can control how they're interpreted.

Governments typically seek to do both, but are now quite interested in controlling your information and how your words are defined.

An easy example are the terms "freedom fighters" or "rebels". If your cause is aligned with my interests I have only to define (or redefine) what you represent in order to control how others interact with you or think of you.

It does not need to be true in order to be effective. Once I have related you with something it is difficult to unrelate it once others have made the association.

The ability to define words and concepts and popularize them is the ability to manipulate entire realities.

Why were UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles) unpopular with the public until they were renamed "drones"?

How does a meat compound that is popular and had been accepted for many years suddenly become unpopular when someone associates the term "pink slime" with it?

When one country goes to war and calls it a fight for freedom or democracy, why is this accepted?

Want a new law passed? Find a way to make it "about the children", or come up with an innocent-sounding acronym. People don't like "Total Information Awareness"? Rename it something nicer, like CISPA.

Are you beginning to see that the power of words and language is actually the power to define relationships?

This is how we will transition successfully to the new physicality. By redefining what has been defined 'for' us, or by relating things together that we want less of in our reality.

You can redefine your reality by redefining the relationships that make up your reality.

Take what you don't want in your reality and change the representation.

It is not enough to call persons or finance companies who lend at high interest rates "loan sharks", for example. We must use their methods in the same way in order for it to be just as effective.

When an interest wants to control the narrative, they work on the extreme. The flashlight in the street was not forgotten or accidentally dropped by someone. It is a terror threat or a suspicious package.

Is the NSA spying on citizens worldwide or involved in the killing of young cancer patients or, better yet, a massive worldwide identity fraud ring? Is the US Constitution being repealed or are you being "freedom raped"?

Would people respond differently to GMO foods if a less-savory term was popularized for what it is?

The above are just examples to get you thinking of how you can begin to take control of your reality. Please let us know if you can think of anything else, or have any other comments.
Quoting: Chaol

Meme: A meme (/miːm/ MEEM[1][2][3]) is an idea, behavior, or style that spreads from person to person within a culture—often with the aim of conveying a particular phenomenon, theme, or meaning represented by the meme.[4] A meme acts as a unit for carrying cultural ideas, symbols, or practices, that can be transmitted from one mind to another through writing, speech, gestures, rituals, or other imitable phenomena with a mimicked theme. Supporters of the concept regard memes as cultural analogues to genes in that they self-replicate, mutate, and respond to selective pressures.[5]

Memes reproduce by copying from a nervous system to another one, either by communication or imitation. Imitation often involves the copying of an observed behavior of another individual. Communication may be direct or indirect, where memes transmit from one individual to another through a copy recorded in an inanimate source, such as a book or a musical score. Adam McNamara has suggested that memes can be thereby classified as either internal or external memes (i-memes or e-memes).[8]

Some commentators have likened the transmission of memes to the spread of contagions.[28] Social contagions such as fads, hysteria, copycat crime, and copycat suicide exemplify memes seen as the contagious imitation of ideas. Observers distinguish the contagious imitation of memes from instinctively contagious phenomena such as yawning and laughing, which they consider innate (rather than socially learned) behaviors.[29]

I'm shocked by the biological references made and how perfectly they tie into Chaol's concepts of DNA, emotions as infections, blockchain structure, etc. So much to think about.

Re: Notes from an "Alternate Universe": Escaping the Matrix
What is the Dreamworld?

The first four dimensions of reality (three physical dimensions plus time, according to accepted science) help us to form an identity and navigate our reality. They allow us to trust our perspective. The fifth dimension (of this thread) helps us to expand our identity and navigate an expanded reality.

Quoting: Kore

The fifth dimension?! Of this thread?! Are you talking about velocity? Do tell. :)
Quoting: Lady of Stars

Meaning, the fifth dimension that I discussed earlier in this thread.

Yes, thank you for confirming what I assumed Chaol meant by his many references to the Industrial Revolution.

The BBC series Cranford always comes to mind :)

Certainly. But reading what I wrote I realized that it might confused the hell out of some. Still awaiting new concepts of language to help illustrate some of this.

Right. I was just curious about your hypothetical situation :)

What stands out to me is the implementation of creative thinking rather than following a logical 'correct' obvious path.

Thanks!
Quoting: Cat Carel

We need Chaos to experience the logical path, though.

The logical path is that which uses the least amount of Chaos.

Machines are not need for man to put information out there

Tools are all ways needed, as there is no direct interface with information.

Can you "put information out there" without a tool?

I have a penchent for collecting shot glasses when I travel, which is ironic since I don't really care for hard alchohol.
Quoting: Hall of Mirrors

I immediately think of it being a good way to manage the pendulum swing from the Chaos of travel (with the glass being a way to define space)

What I find interesting about the shot glasses is that most of the time when I look at it I can remember the circumstances of it's purchase as well as much of the rest of the trip that I took at the time.
Quoting: Hall of Mirrors

The interactions are still there.

Would thinking of the shot glass as a token be apropriate?
It seems that the glass is a little microcosm of the whole of that moment when it was purchased.

Objects that can be used to access experiences, yes.
