There are different levels of "participation. " There is up close and personal! It's the other stuff I'm curious about but I can see it would be a waste of energy because it doesn't really affect me.

Once I quit paying much attention to the news, it's a huge surprise when I see a headline of "what's going on." I have no interaction with news headlines. They are not related to my day-to-day experience. Any example of something that doesn't really affect you will do. In any subject :) Laws about speed limit, drinking age, free speech, one way streets or warnings about hot tubs don't phase me. I have always been discreet and don't mind it. My inner life is untouched by all this.
