Thanks. It's probably my favorite book. I still have the little copy I used to carry around in my pocket since I was about 12.

I think the 'four pillars' that hold up the Earth (in the Bible) and Tao, Heaven, Earth, Man are the four dimensions of reality.

Some of these pictures and videos can be quite amusing. They seem to prefer 'fish eye' lenses.

When you square nothing you get... nothing :)

But perhaps it is the awareness of 'nothing' that makes for the first bit of awareness (1st dimension), followed by perspective (second dimension).

I like it, but "chains" has a double meaning in that context, which I'm not sure would still be carried over if it's "...our chains..."

Chains as in enslavement, and as in a repeating process. (Like a DNA chain or blockchain.)

You must have been such an interesting character as a kid. I definitely was not carrying this book around at 12. More like 20. Lol

Taol "a surging water-deep" I swim right besides you to the great deep waters, realize I wont have the energy to swim back to shore. So you're here to s--- destroy the world after-all, as my reality shatters with nothing beneath my feet. I realize, at least I can breathe underwater in dreams. I whiff the smokey air from the bottomless pit. Deep calls to deep. A long swim indeed to reveal mirage upon mirage. With time flowing I find myself questioning why the hell didn't I just buy a boat.

Well, when I stopped going to school I made trips to the library and bookstores, instead. I had to pretend I was going somewhere during the day (until the gig was up!).

Yes, and a big part of me realizes that it would be quite difficult, perhaps impossible, to move beyond ideology for this reason.

When an idea is resisted by others it becomes an ideology, it would seem.

There seems to be no other way, so I guess the time will have to come someday.

I've suspected that one of the books I wrote, The Distant Memory, was related to Maria (Chaol). The main character visits an other world like Earth, etc.

It would seem that Maria has been communicating with someone in the 'bottomless pit' lol

What a strange world we might live in.

In one way, it feels like I'm having dinner with someone who is ordering lots of expensive items and runs straight out of the door before anything comes to the table.

In an other, it feels comforting swimming right alongside you with no way back.

It seems more likely propaganda rather than something that is 'wanted'. The people don't really like the idea of foreigners in Japan. The culture would have to change a lot for that. This is something probably being forced on them by the UN.

I think the article should read, "Japan being forced to take in at least 345,000 unskilled, welfare-dependant persons from third-world countries with very incompatible cultures"

Most of Japan's immigrants come from places like Korea and China. So, why not skilled Chinese immigrants? That wouldn't suit the narrative.

Japan doesn't really have a problem with a lack of labor, as their use of technology is taking away the need for it. Populations grow and shrink, as they're supposed to.

The focus is more on destroying Christian values, so I think Japan doesn't have to worry too much about it.
