ten of wands User ID: 1716142 United States 10/10/2018 03:02 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | $800 is more than enough for a quality carry revolver. Be aware that the lighter the gun itself is, the heavier the recoil will be from each shot which makes it more difficult to get back on target for a followup shot. Other factors: hammerless or shrouded hammer is easier to draw from concealment like a pocket or bag vs an exposed hammer that can snag. Shorter barrels reduce weapon weight and make it easier to conceal, but make shots at a distance more difficult. Don't get anything smaller than .38 special. If you get a .38 special, get one that can shoot .38spl +P ammo, it will be more durable in the long run. Consider a replacement grip that includes a laser dot sight if you think nighttime use may be needed. |

We have some guns already but honestly I am afraid to use them because they aren't revolvers. for some reason I feel like I have more control over the gun if it's a revolver and I know it's going to shoot and I don't have to do anything other than pull the trigger. Quoting: chasity I don't want anything too heavy, actually on the light side and I will be getting my carry license so I don't want it too big either, nor pink. time change also brings more weirdo's out earlier in the evening and I always try to be home before dark but sometimes it's not always possible. It's around 15%. The only pistol with a higher rate of one-shot stopping power is the .410 pistol that uses the smallest shotgun shell (8 rounds per shot). I recommend the S&W MP Shield 1.0 in 9mm. Great grouping, very few if any squibs reliable, a much larger cartridge than a revolver. But statistically speaking, they are basically all the same. All pistols, you just have trigger (unless it has a safety) but its not that hard to just turn the safety off, so I don't exactly understand why you want a revolver for that. |

Might as well tell her to get a grenade pull the pin and walk around the house until a bad guy shows up. I've only shot with automatics or are they semi-automatics? and I can't, I've tried numerous times. I will pull it out if I have to the walther ps90, that one is small but I'm afraid the bullets aren't the home defense kind and people on drugs are hard to take down unless I shoot them in the eyeballs. Epic Beard Guy User ID: 76783046 United States 10/10/2018 03:27 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I would recommend a pistol for daily carry, rather than a revolver.A good polymer frame pistol is much lighter, and easier to conceal. I carry a Ruger LCP, just because I can put it in any pocket. It doesn't weigh anything, so you never feel it in your pocket. It is very thin, so it does not imprint on your clothing. If you are determined to carry a wheel gun, the .38 specials are usually easier to carry, but the .357 magnums have the serious power. Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst. I'd think the 12+1 would be better because more bullets would be available before reloading. Just in case the bad guy has buddies around the corner. Quoting: Tynyyn If you are at hand-to-hand distance and trying to fire on an attacker, one can reach out and grab the top of a semi-automatic and push it out of battery such that it does not fire. Even just pushing a semi-auto into someone's belly, for example, can push it out of battery. If you shoot a semi-auto enough, you'll eventually have failure to eject spent cartridges or failure to load a fresh cartridge from the magazine. Limp-wristing while firing makes a jam much more likely. Revolvers will not jam from limp-wristing and do not need to eject a spent cartridge to load the next. Grabbing a semi-auto in a hurry, you're much more likely to hit the magazine release on accident than you are to hit the cylinder release on a revolver. Many revolvers with an exposed hammer allow single-action fire which is just more fun IMO and allows more accurate fire for someone who has difficulty with a heavy double-action trigger. I find it far easier and simpler to clean a revolver than a semi-auto. But yes, the fewer shots with a revolver is a limitation worth taking into account. It's a matter of personal preference. |
