Father, we pray for Brian McFry's mother, that she be comforted and relieved of all of her pain. If it be Your will, Father, please restore her to perfect health. Reverse her cancer everywhere it is found. May Your will for Her be done today in Yeshua's Holy Name Amen.

I’m really sorry, OP. There are no words. Stay strong. Be your Mom’s champion after she passes on. Let your Mom’s light shine through you to help illuminate the world around you. The good person your Mom is is reflected through you. Much love and comfort to you, my friend.

Oh wow :'(

I just cannot imagine that.

I'm so thankful to have my mom still. My dad died when I was in my mid-20s. He had pre-senile dementia - it was Pick's. Pretty rare. It was awful. My mom is starting to show the first signs of dementia herself and I'm sorta trying to make plans without her realizing I'm doing that. I want her to live with me.

Cancer has spread to multiple organs. Further treatment is futile. She's being taken to hospice today to make her last days more comfortable than the ICU which would only prolong the inevitable. She's only 52... I'm the only child... Her parents will outlive their second child, their first born son died not long before I was born, 25 years ago. After helping them through that grief, it looks like I am meant to help them through this grief, also. This will be my first experience losing a close relative. Nothing could have prepared us for this day.

Re: Mom is dying
I am so sorry. I have been there. I lost my mom almost 10 years ago now (April 2009). She never got to meet my son and experience being a grandparent. She was only 65 when she passed. She died from complications of lupus, polymyositis, and scoliosis. Essentially an aspiration pneumonia got her. It's been almost 10 years, but I still think about her multiple times a day. Time numbs the pain, but it never entirely leaves. Losing a parent is very different from losing a grandparent/aunt/uncle/etc. It is a much more primal and visceral loss. Hang in there. Prayers are being said.

Our hearts go out to you Op.

There is nothing you can do now bar keep her as comfortable as possible. Her own pillow would help. Hospital pillows are awful.
You are there with her and that is the biggest blessing to her and you.
Da died of the same he was 57, again too young.

Funny story though, he went around the room telling us that he loved us but he forgot to tell Ma.

Ma piped up "Kerry, I love you too you know"

Da "Sure, why wouldn't ya!"

Funny right up until the end, we all broke our hearts laughing in the room. He died that night.
She was so annoyed it kept her going right through the funeral.

BrianMcFry maybe you should not give up hope.

I just checked and her final death moment, most people have several but there is a final one, is more than 6 years away.

That is hope giving, she is getting help now.

You must be very very young. You know, reaching out on GLP is probably the best thing you can do. There are a lot of us wise old timers on here - who have gone through what you are going through! I believe in "Hospice" -and the nurses and staff are incredibly helpful - reach out to them! I bet you will be surrounded by helpful and loving agents - sometimes in the most unlikely of places. So sorry about your mother, and your sibling also.

Heartfelt condolences to you OP

It's a difficult part of life.

I remember when my mom passed.. literally the entire world came to a screeching halt. It was weird watching everyone go about their daily routines when my life was seemingly in a vacuum.

It's good that you have shared with people on here. Even though it's the "internet" there are truly amazing souls on here that will hold you and your family in their thoughts and prayers.

May the Peace of God Surround You All

Re: Mom is dying
Thank 'yall for the support; I hurt with her. It hurts to see her struggling, she doesn't have long to live. The cancer has infected her liver, the kidneys, and her spine. Her breast cancer had a resurgence, and she refused to get help the past few weeks/months. It wasn't until she was seriously ill that she made it to the hospital. Thankfully she did, so that we can have these precious, last few moments to share. The memories hurt, the good and the bad, it all hurts and comes in waves. We only just found out yesterday, and because I am her closest living relative, it was put on me to make the choice. It is the right choice.

She has a history of alcohol abuse, and I am sure that it has contributed greatly to the condition she is in now. She has had multiple warnings in the past with hospital visits, and now the time has finally come. I feel a certain amount of guilt, but I shouldn't. It was the choices she made, not mine. I just wish this was all a dream, but its not.
