Risk of power outages rises in Puget Sound after Canadian pipeline explosion cuts off natural-gas supply 2/3’s of our natural gas comes through this pipeline with no estimated time for repair. Another day and they are going to start turning power off in areas... Large portions of energy are generated with this gas never mind the heating as we go onto fall time. I guess those wind towers east of the mountains are not helping.... “I’m the wall that progress ran into" |

Apparently at least some people in Washington state are anticipating real delays in bulk deliveries, this from less than an hour ago: Waste Management said it's suspending garbage collection until further notice in the Seattle region because its trucks also run on natural gas. Risk of power outages rises in Puget Sound after Canadian pipeline explosion cuts off natural-gas supply I turned my thermostat down 3 degrees last night and my wife asked why? She's always cold. I told her and she said "well I really doubt anyone else is turning down their stats so why would one person matter..." I love her... “I’m the wall that progress ran into" |

A long time ago I read that residential use of resources is only like 6% of the total. The rest is transportation, agriculture, industry, etc. Don't know if that's still true but it made me feel differently about water use and simple things like lights. |

The generating plants are easy to build - just a building housing a burner, a turbine, and a chimney, with a transformer station outside. Deplorable in a tin foil hat |

Yeah, basically all the buildings and industrial use the most energy. “I’m the wall that progress ran into" |

Risk of power outages rises in Puget Sound after Canadian pipeline explosion cuts off natural-gas supply The latest I have heard is that there was leak in the pipeline and a pocket of gas formed underground then exploded. update: I just heard that the damaged pipeline has already been repaired and the gas is about to start flowing again. They're not soy boys up here in northern BC. We giver and giter' done. Doom canceled. Last Edited by Deplorable Klinger on 10/11/2018 12:19 PM Deplorable in a tin foil hat |

They haven't repaired it yet, but they are using a secondary line. Sorry, the story keeps changing. I've seen a picture of the blast site. It's a big smoldering crater and there is no heavy equipment around, not even a welder's truck. Meanhwile, the RCMP is involved and terrorism is not ruled out. The amount of gas used to keep deep fryers hot at a restaurant when not in use is probably enough for 10 homes. |

It is beautiful and simple (google it). I hope the lights do go out in Seattle, and all the comunist libs move out of this state. We are sick of them moving into our small towns. #walkawayfromseattle Alpineservant loose your life to find it. |
