Re: Floridians -- really worried about the gubernatorial race
Sounds like I'm crossing Florida off my list of places to move to. Low taxes and gun friendly really appealed to me and it looks like that's over.

The left is trying to take down Florida, Texas and Alabama by any illegal means at their disposal.

South Florida has fallen.
All Gov entities and forces are beyond corrupt. I can imagine the whole state run like SFL, it will be hell on Earth. Dont forget the Republicans let them eat cake attitude made it happen.

Gillum is a straight-up socialist and made a mess of Tallahassee but has consistently been tracking several points ahead of DeSantis.

I learned the uselessness of polls during Trump's election but still -- it's worrisome. I can't imagine living here with Barack 2.0 destroying all the gains our state has made.

Any thoughts?

I am in the South.
Been here for 10 years.

Broward is a shithole.

I a $20 an hour Conservative.
That makes me just a hair above poor in South Florida.

Say what you want about the libs, at least their guy will give them crumbs to eat. Guys like Scott and Desantis dont give two shits about the working class voter.

Its all about the millionaires for them.

They only care about making it better for the rich while the left panders to the criminal class.
The only thing they are good on is guns but I cant feed my family a glock nor can we live in one.

You have good reason to fear this election, I suspect the left will take hold because the right has not done anything to protect the working class other than to ensure there are many low paying slave jobs out there.

Not everyone can be a Doctor or Lawyer, do we deserve to starve or live on the street?

The COL is South FL is as high as NY but the pay is stuck in 1997.

Jobs paying $12.00 an hour for "managers".

The right has failed and out of misguided desperation, many might consider the socialists.

While it might get worse, people have been pushed to the limit.

The right said let them eat cake and those chickens are coming home to roost.

What has failed is the Dem party you seem to support, although you won't admit it. That area you live in is heavily Dem. They are parasites that bring everyone else down, including how far your dollar goes. Move to a different area and you might get a different perspective.

I said a hair above poor.
At 20 an hour, I can compete with the Welfare bums who beg on the corner and shit in the alleys behind our homes.

I have a 10 k medical deductible.
Insurance racket on the car
Deductions out the ass on that $20.
When it hits my bank, its closer to 12 an hour than 20.

I aint blaming the Republicans, just saying they have abandoned the working class conservatives.

I aint saying they attacked me, just that they stood by and did nothing but give themselves a tax cut.

They still manage to send Police to extort us for money and fines while criminals own the streets.

Dont tell me to fuck off and come back at election time asking for support, thats a Democrat tactic.

I'm in the Tampa Bay Area; where the heck is DeSantis? Besides a few commercials & my primary ballot you wouldn't know he's even running.

While I don't want to see Gillum as Gov, it's hard to vote for a candidate who seems completely uninterested too.

Never trust a poll. I had a pollster call me recently (not from FL), I lied to the caller - I was an 18-24 year old black man that hated all republicans / Trump and was 100% to vote. Yes I tainted the poll and hope others do the same.

I live in the Tampa area since 2004. Myself and people that have migrated here in the past 25 years do so to escape the cost of living in states like NJ and NY.

The state is 1/3 seniors living on a fixed income. We all know if a radical lefty gets in as governor, taxes will explode and cost of living will sky rocket.

The only way Gillum gets in would be by massive voter fraud.

Florida state house and senate is 2/3rds republican. The state and local elections run very conservative. Only in federal elections is Florida a swing state.

Latest polls have Gillum only 1 point ahead which is within margin of error.

If I was betting, DeSantis will win.

BTW, I've been seeing several California plates lately, gee I wonder why?

They keep increasing the numbers of working poor people, its going to be close this year. In a decade, it wont be close.
Conservatives will be run out of everywhere due to the let them eat cake attitude on salaries. The left will just use violence and hand outs to manage us.

You have millions of kids growing up poor under working-class families in Florida, they are being trained to hate capitalism. In contrast, my God Daughter's in NYC cant wait to start working. They see the benefit of work there while Florida practices work for slave pay or die in the Sun.

I hear everyone about how poor certain parts of Florida is and I can agree 100%.
We are living on disability here in Tampa and it's not easy at all.
This cannot be escaped no matter where we go in the country however to vote red keeps the true evil out for it will only get worse under blue.

What concerns us most here is that we have seen Gillum brandish the ideals of the muslims and has no problem with their ways. They are trying to usher this evil into our country in any state they can gain. To us here that is unacceptable.Or future generations depend on conservatives.

I am too. Broward County has long been suspected of voter irregularities.

My family are voting by mail to avoid voting at our black community's center. The lines to create a mainly black district were pushed by a neighbor a Democrat. How do I know this? She told me. At one time this her family had a great amount of sway in this area. I was in there house one day and her husband showed me side by side phones. He pointed to one which he claimed was a direct line to the FBI. I had not a doubt that this was true.

Anyhow I suspect that there will be problems no matter who wins.

And that hurricane just hit a pretty conservative area if Im not mistaken

I know it is too soon, and I feel bad getting all poliical so fast, BUT, I'm guessing that DeSantis just lost about 50K votes. That's 50K people who were very likely to vote, and they would have voted for him. From St Marks, Carrabelle, Apalachicola, Port St Joe, Mexico Beach, and Panama City, I don't see how these people are going to stick around in their towns and vote in 3 weeks.

The other guy, he probably just lost about 500 votes.

I'm all for Orlando being the capital of South FL, take Tampa with it.

I think the state is too big and too crowded now for just 1 state government to manage.
