Re: Have you ever lost a tonsil?
Yeah, I've lost a tonsil.

I looked everywhere. Couch cushions, under the furniture, junk drawer, etc. I never found it, but I did find Jesus!

Lost him too, man, I just suck at keeping track of things...

Most people find Jesus at the bottom of an empty glass. Look there.

Re: Have you ever lost a tonsil?
Mine were so bad the doc said they had practically extracted themselves

then...fast forward to being a parent...found out I was the CARRIER for STREP that my kids were getting repeatedly each year...

Having tonsils out as an adult is something I would never recommend...serious recovery...they tell you that you can bleed to death the first week and you MUST not be alone...

Que the in-laws...eyeroll...additional torture but someone to keep track of the little gremlins...

My health is MUCH BETTER though...I had ugly stinky "tonsil stones" (a medical term for food particles composting in the tonsils and causing sore throats and infections)

eh

Hope you do well...I'd celebrate the one that is GONE and hope the other follows it!
 Quoting: Theobromine The Deplorable

Yeah. I think I'll keep my remaining one. I don't want to bleed out.

I still don't understand how I didn't bleed to death if the thing exited stage right on its own without someone to stitch up the skin.

My remaining one is gross. I think it's working double-time to compensate for the loss of the other. One of these days, if tonsil necrosis is actually a thing, it's going to go the same route as its buddy and die off.

Re: Have you ever lost a tonsil?
I used to have two tonsils - big, giant, unhealthy looking things. Then, one day I had a really bad sore throat on one side and when I looked, that tonsil was gone. The only thing remaining was an ugly red scar.

So, is that normal or do I live in some bizarro world of tonsil harvesters?

YOu had the services of your friendly angel would be my guess.... While tonsils was not included and I lost mine the normal way in the hospital... I have experienced many services including medical services from angels...

I'd like it if my angels were full disclosure about any procedures and consent forms were signed - with no drugs or drink used before, during, or after.
