Does anybody care for Mr. Poltorak's legacy? His murder was reported in a way that seemed designed to minimize public sympathy. His murderer chose to be executed without trial, so the facts to be presented by the defense were never heard in court. Does the cylinder seal above convey the fact that the Sumerians who fashioned it knew of 12 planets in our solar system? That's what Zecharia Sitchin claims about the seal. But he's wrong, and it isn't difficult to demonstrate. All one has to do to agree with Sitchin here is (a) ignore what the seal says; (b) ignore what is known about Sumerian astronomy from cuneiform astronomical texts (all published, but in scholarly books); and ignore standard Sumerian iconography -- artistic representations of stars. That's all.

It is hard to take you serious when you can't even read carefully enough to realize his name is Dr. MICHAEL Heiser. Not Mark. It is also absurd to use terms like "trolltard" and "tard" when addressing one of today's leading Near Eastern and Semitic language scholars.

I had never heard of Eric ,but I like the videos . I really liked Zechariah Sitchen and got to speak with him a few times after his lectures . I think I read about 7 of his books .

i have read all Sitchens works

and I think they match the bible account 100%.

You expect me to listen to this guy's 2 hour talk without the slightest synopsis of where he "debunks" Sitchin? His website doesn't provide much.

An academic (or a grade 10 high school student) should be able to make an opening statement to wit: Sitchin is wrong in stating X because he ignore Y, as I will show with reference to Z.

I went skimming through the first hour of his talk trying to find out where he even addresses Sitchin. Gave up after an hour. It would be helpful if you could tell us at what segment of the video he "debunks" Sitchin.

What's with these people who tell you not to think for yourself and call that debunking?

Sitchin put forth a thesis based on standard translations of the Sumerian cuneiforms that are accepted as accurate by all academics. It is up to you to read the passages and see if Sitchin's alien hypothesis makes sense or not. Until the Annunaki return and reveal themselves it is all speculation.

Go to your library and take out the Epic of Gilgamesh yourself. Your translation will be equivalent to the one Sitchin used. Decide for yourself if Gilgamesh is just a fictional character made up by some mushroom cult Mesopotamian or if there is more to this fantastical tale.
