and let's see her family tree that provides that source of that DNA.

So. Even if she does have a drop of Native American Indian in her she still has been thoroughly raised in white Christian culture. She and her family for many generations have not been hanging out with native Americans. We need to get away from this notion of one drop other than white blood makes you anything different.

Certainly it would be interesting for her to explain why she is Native American with that little blood, assuming it’s even true.

Does that mean that anyone that has a black relative 8 generations ago qualifies for minority status?

And what if her Indian blood was from a slave owner raping an Indian slave?

The point is she used or 1/32 Indian heritage to gain advantages which she should not of had.

haha yeah.... ok... listen I'm adopted. I was adopted by an Italian family and to say the least I'm not Italian (visibly).

This Christmas I promised myself I'd get an ancestry dna test (minus anything medical related and see where it leads). I wanted this special for me (not for anyone else). Yeah yeah I shouldn't do it for privacy reasons and I entirely understand that. But my adoption was closed and I really don't have any other way of figuring out what and more importantly WHO I am.

If 6 to 10 generations back I saw one person that was Japanese, one person that was African, one person as native american. ... Well wow cool! But that doesn't make me part of that culture. Now if I tested like 80% something I could say "yeah that is my past!"... 1 to 2% nah, that is more like wow my biological family has an interesting past!

She had a (meaning one) Native American in her ancestry 6 to 10 generation back?

Even the most liberal tribes only accept 1/8 blood onto their rolls. I don't know how to go about the math, but one person 6 to 10 generations back is considerably less than 1/8. More like 1/64 or less. Does that qualify her to claim herself Native American for college benefits? I don't think so.

I'm more Native American than she is and I don't get any benefits, college or otherwise. She's a fake, a phony, and a fraud, and I hope this comes back to bite her right in the ass.

Although I disagree with her using the status for gains...I totally believe she has the native ancestry.

Everybody in the US probably has native American blood 6 -10 generations back. Good God, that's like wondering how many people are born with fingers and toes.

My gf's grandmother and great grandmother, one on each side of her family, was native american, my gf has never considered herself part native american, or claimed any benefits from it, 6-10 generations? Fraud!

There are a few who submitted markers to track descendants, but then they suffered a backlash from other tribes. Why? Most of them have closed their enrollments so, it's not like they will collect less on their checks every month. Hell, Ive read some tribes that kicked out well known whole native families whose money totaled many thousands a month...

Hell, my daughter has some from her father and looks like it more then she does.

My husband's great grandmother was a full Native American. He doesn't even claim it, although he visibly looks to have some. I don't think we've even told my daughter.

And as someone with none in them, I don't get why people are like "I'm Indian!" I grew up in Oklahoma and Texas, and never got that whole thing at all, although I've seen whiter people than white bread claim it.
