1. Long, careful planning wouldn't involve leaving an unnecessary double homicide scene with ballistic evidence, etc. (not to mention a totally unnecessary homicide charge)

2. If your long careful plan is to kidnap someone alive, you don't shoot in the front door with a shotgun (unless you somehow know the girl isn't in danger of being hit).

3. His head was clean shaven as far back as 2015, so we don't know if that was really part of a plan to stymie forensics (and why be that careful anyway if you're just going to spray traceable bullets all over the place...)
