And for those who think I may be trying to spread fear, you are quite wrong. I am just doing my best to alert people on how nature works, as well as my opinions of how those who control the world work.

Population control seems necessary when viewed in the eyes of the global elite. Why have 8 billion people who consume large amounts of resources, than a few billion less. Especially in low income countries. Nature may very well be the reason for such a decline, combined with social and economic breakdown. It is not a far fetched idea, especially a conspiracy forum to suggest these things.

"Useless eaters" will serve little function as AI robotics, and automation become mainstream ... But a vastly lower population..makes it much easier to control. And this is with the tech that the public is aware of. I have seemingly had difficulty getting this point across to many.

Perhaps it is a left/right partisan thing in which people believe a conservative leader will protect all peoples. I do not believe in such saviors, and feel that if such a plan exists, it goes far beyond politics.

Nature, and man made viruses/bacteria do not have a care in the world about this. And if we are lucky enough for TPTB not to try and widdle the population down to something easier to handle, than so be it.

I trust no one in charge 100%, and that's what GLP used to be about....I am conservative on financial issues, liberal on personal freedoms (So long as they don't hurt other) pro protecting our nation s borders, but not so much on global policing). I am right center just before anyone attacks me for being "anti" whatever

Kill ratio of Nipah varies based on strain. From 40-100% in some outbreaks.

Outbreaks in Malaysia and Bangladesh seem to represent the most common genetic differences, although other countries have experienced outbreaks.

Malaysian strain is around 40% fatality rate with the Bangladesh strain around 70-100%.

Which is why I created the thread on Nipa h and pandemic Clade X exercises, because they use a Para influenza virus based on Nipah. Watch the fictional movie from the exercise, I can link if you want.

WHO convenes emergency meeting on Congo’s Ebola outbreak

JOHANNESBURG - The World Health Organization says it is convening a meeting on Wednesday to determine whether Congo's latest Ebola outbreak constitutes a public health emergency of international concern.

Also, viruses can most certainly jump species.

Typically fruit bats infect pigs, which either drop fruit that is infected into pig farms or expose pigs another way.

Just as bird flu infects humans, viruses can easily move from cat, dog, pig etc to human. This is due similar respiratory tracts and temperatures in which the virus can multiply. Pigs are often considered the perfect mixing vessel for viruses to jump to humans.

Once pigs are infected, close encounters with humans are easy to spread the virus. At that point it is dependent on that particular strain and it's ability to easily move from human to human. Being that Nipah produces sneeze and coughing this is accomplished with much greater ease. The

Jake, unfortunately we face much more than Ebola as threats. We have Ebola, Nipah, and several strains of bird flu, each having severa! Different places etc, as well as dozens of bar viruses alone which we have yet to discover.

Pandemics have the potential to spread via flights etc before we may even know what they are.

Sadly, there is no magic bullet to stop diseases from spreading globally due to our transportation and shipping methods

I understand the argument, and it may be valid at some point, yet we face numerous potential threats and could not always protect ourselves by these means.

Only prevention at this point over there....

...is either 'ALL of the below'....:

1. Monkey-proof condoms

2. MANDATORY designated monkey-chefs MUST prepare any killed meal prior to eating and roasted to well above cleansing temperature.

3. MANDATORY gloves, full PPE gear and ebola-proof lip balm before caressing or kissing any corpses in your weird fucking death ceremonies.

.....or.......just nuke the site from orbit.

Also, given the economic opportunities that the US, Russiw, and China have in Africa, just because the US shuts down flights would not mean other international travellers would do the same. In the interconnected world we live in, it is difficult and unlikely to stop all movement out of a continent. Once viruses reached other areas of the globe, there is no telling who they could infect, and where those travellers would end up.

Look at the Clade X exercises and see the recommendations and plans out in place. Despite those plans, it is nearly impossible to stop a virus that wants to spread. Sure, ban all flights from Africa to the US, but in a real pandemic, people might fly to countries far away from the epicenter, still be healthy during the incubation period and move onto the next stop.

Likely, for Ebola, it would need more mutations. Especially those that cause respiratory symptoms, this easily making the virus airborne and causing fomites.

For many other viruses, this already happens. Many of which need rather slight mutations to spread easily.

Bottom line is this, the more hosts a virus finds, the greater the likelihood of them adapting, causing easier modes of transmission. We have a few decades at most of understanding how these viruses work, much is still unknown.

These viruses spread over Africa, India, and throughout the entire Pacific region, depending on what your looking for. Ebola is just an example. One that is unprecedented due to HIS leaving the area because of War.

The same scenarios of Ebola, also apply for Nipah virus, Avian Influenza, and dozens of bat infections we are not even aware of yet...

Nuking, is about the worst option that could be. As the fruit bats and related species span much of the globe.

To put it short, we are way behind the 8 ball. .Surveillance and identigication, as well as study and early phase vaccine/medical treatments have gone without...This is due to largely impoverished regions, who cannot foot the bill for such r&d. People are short sighted though, they lack the chances that these pathogens will cross into economic power zones and away from the impoverished areas they are found.

Once a virus truly goes global, we will be roughly a year or more from finding a cure. Production and distribution will also need to be planned.

By this point, if a cure or treatment is not found...Society, the economy, health care, and insurance will either be in the brink of failure or well beyond. This makes solving the situation that much more difficult.

Opinion: Still not ready for a pandemic
By Gabrielle Fitzgerald // 15 October 2018

Four years ago, a devastating Ebola outbreak in West Africa killed more than 11,000 people and sparked worldwide fear of a global pandemic. Worldwide, leaders committed to prioritizing preparedness to ensure this would never happen again.

Last month, World Health Organization Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus called on the United Nations Security Council to do everything it can to fight the current Ebola outbreak in the volatile region of North Kivu, Democratic Republic of the Congo, noting “we are now at a critical point in the outbreak” that has killed 135 people to date.

Responding to this outbreak in a conflict-prone location has been extraordinarily challenging and dangerous. Cases have now appeared near the border with Uganda, raising concerns of a cross-border epidemic. Tedros asked for support in securing access to the affected areas and identifying financial resources to help the response, as WHO has received only 25 percent of the $33 million it has requested.

So what does this outbreak in DRC tell us about the world’s preparedness to deal with fast-spreading emerging infectious diseases?

There are significant areas that still need attention, however. The country plans have not been financed and therefore cannot be implemented. Contrary to the urgency for vaccines, there is little energy around developing new drugs and diagnostic tools to help get outbreaks under control rapidly. And while some new funding has been made available, it is not nearly at the levels that are needed.

While WHO is now able to quickly respond to country-level outbreaks, it is not clear it is ready to, nor has the mandate to, lead the diverse set of players needed to address a fast-moving global outbreak. Significant coordination with multiple United Nations agencies, country governments, airlines, and other private sector companies will be needed to successfully stop the progress of a global epidemic.

Bleed out zombie type is kinda like a Biblical plague actually.

I knew of a lady who was an alcoholic by means of straight vodka.

She drank so much b4 getting to the hospital she bled out & died right there red bloody sheets & all. I never knew that could happen!

Her blood cells & vessels just collapsed and she bled out from ALL orifices & even her skin like a horror movie...

I wonder if the causative catalyst is similar between ebola & alcoholic bleed outs?

Although 1 is viral and 1 is alcohol poisoning the vehicle ends at the same result. Both cause blood cells to leak out & collapse.

May not even matter since all these and more plagues will come as the wars begin & all countries choose their sides for the last battles.

Thank you for updating us on this. I was heavily involved in research and awareness during the epidemic of ebola a few years ago. This one is bad, bad, bad, as it carries so easily between people.

This is very much worth watching, because though we definitely dodged a bullet a few years ago outside the few small countries horrdendously affected, we will not necessarily continue being so fortunate.

I don't do the flu shot thing, as I see little reason to be vaccinated for last year's illnesses, and I do get the two pneumonia shots. If an ebola variety of protection were developed, and research told me the vaccine was well-made, safe, and effective, I'd stand in line for it, just because international travel is constant in members of nearly every country's population, and souvenirs brought home are not always from a tourist shop.

Very welcome...The thread
As usual has turned from being Ebola centered to virus/pandemic related in general.

I myself have not had a vaccune , or even a high fever/flu, since I was a child. Last fever i was around 4/5 years old, which makes it about 30 years now.

I have strong genetics and great innate immunity...Also believe in plenty of sllep, exercise, and extra vitamin c and d...Also, sunlight, no matter how cold every day helps for this, and the winter blues...

A lot can be told about your birth year and susceptibility to certain strains of the flu. Recent research so

New research from the University of Wisconsin suggests that deforestation is promoting the spread of a disease called Nipah virus in Bangladesh. The virus has no cure, no vaccine — and a mortality rate of more than 70 percent.

After Nipah virus first appeared in Malaysia in 1998, epidemiologists traced it back to Indian flying foxes — giant fruit bats that are widespread in South Asia. In Malaysia the bats infected domesticated pigs, which in turn infected their farmers. But the latest outbreaks have been in Bangladesh, where pigs are rare. A 2006 study by the CDC and other groups concluded that the Bangladesh outbreaks were caused by drinking contaminated date palm sap, a sugary syrup humans and bats both love.

Probably the Ebola-Bushmeat premise is still true...For now.

Much less likely with Ebola, but evidence is unclear as there are more studies out there. For Nipah, the connection is much more established from bats-pigs-humans.

[link to www.acsh.org (secure)]

Where does the virus go when there isn't an active human outbreak? Viruses can't survive in the environment, so some type of animal must be serving as a "reservoir" from which outbreaks re-emerge. So far, evidence points to fruit bats as the guilty party, but gorillas, chimpanzees, and antelope may also play a role.

Furthermore, there was some evidence that pigs might be able to host the Ebola virus. This is particularly worrisome because it would mean that a common animal used as livestock could be spreading the disease. To further investigate this possibility, a team of scientists collected blood samples from 400 pigs in regions of Sierra Leone that had reported human cases of the Ebola virus.

Of the 400 pigs, three had antibodies in their blood that reacted to Ebola virus proteins. This indicates that these three animals had been infected by the virus and mounted an immune response. (Note: An infected animal does not necessarily show signs of disease; that is, infections can be asymptomatic.)

Next, the authors investigated if the antibodies generated by the pigs were protective against Ebola virus. Antibodies are protective or "neutralizing" if they block the ability of the virus to infect cells. They found that the antibodies were not protective, which means that the pigs' immune response wasn't particularly specific to the Ebola virus. Taken together, what does all of this mean?

Unfortunately, it's not entirely clear. Perhaps the likeliest explanation is that these three pigs were infected by some type of Ebola virus (there are five different Ebola species), but maybe not the one that caused the large West African epidemic. Thus, the good news is that the data suggest that pigs didn't play much of a role in spreading the disease.

The bad news is that they could in the future. The presence of antiodies serves as proof that an animal had been infected, even if it showed no signs of illness. Monitoring livestock near an Ebola outbreak should be on the to-do list for future virus hunters.

Pigs. Humanlike skin. Decay at the same rate as humans.

If you are going by the Bushmeat premise for now then there must be suspicion that this will be turned into a biological weapon (or has been) in a crude form that will spread like wildfire.

Something's up OP, huh?

Nipah, Rabies, Ebola, passed from animals to human with say, a dog bite, or sneeze, or some bodily fluid that jumps human.

There hasn't been much said about containing a biological attack. Is the CDC in charge of that or Homeland Security?
Will Winter burn it out?

In India there is a place where they burn bodies. Put them into a fire until the body slides apart and turns to ash. Then scattered in the Ganges river where humans swim.

What are containment procedures to follow?
Probably a good time to talk about this?
