Mark you have 2 products knit together: Argyrol was/is a medical product in use [link to en.m.wikipedia.org (secure)]

which is put on topically and is not just water and silver. It has a protein in it and stains skin blue. Since it mostly went on tonsils nobody saw, nobody cared. The blue stain of visible skin eventually faded.
The plain silver/water colloidial can cause argyr-ia if impure or wildly abused and colors from the inside out.

2 different colorings, 2 different reasons, 2 similar but chemically different items.
The bluing is the result of silver interacting with protein and staying on it. Plain silver colloid does not stain skin or a bunch of my old hillbilly patients would have indigo eyes and yesss a couple tried to on purpose for cool.
My dad was afraid of the last ebola. He said he didn't care if he smurfed out, but you have to drink it in iced tea glasses all day for awhile to get there.

Ebola is not particularly contagious because it spreads via bodily fluids. It is also too lethal. A real doom virus is airborne, highly contagious and about 50-60% lethal.

A better understanding of bodily fluids is required here. For example, our hands perspire constantly, even when we are unaware. Perspiration is a bodily fluid. The hand of an ill person placed on a shopping cart, handrail, guardrail, ATM machine, office coffee pot, door handle, anywhere, leaves perspiration. And then?

Please refer to my earlier post regarding handwashing, gloves, protections. That was not a post speaking lightly of generalities.

The Special Representative of the UN Secretary General in the DRC worried on Tuesday (October 16th) about the security situation in Beni (North Kivu), where the Ugandan rebels of the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) are taking more and more "quite aggressive" positions.
During a press conference on Tuesday, October 16 at Monusco headquarters, Leila Zerrougui pointed out that Ebola is affecting the response against armed groups.
"The ADF take quite aggressive positions, Ebola is a difficulty, a constraint that blocks the response against armed groups, our battalions work in collaboration with the armed forces of the DRC (FARDC), we fight to contain the epidemic to Blessed," she said.
Ebola and insecurity "are losing years," added Leila Zerrougui, expressing her solidarity with the people of Beni.
"We will put all the resources, especially logistics, MONUSCO to support the authorities in charge of the fight against Ebola," said the same official stating that the mission had "no penny in her budget" for the response to Ebola .

Treatments don't sound so effective....below is a snippet from the most recent update...

- To date, 73 patients have been treated with mAb 114, Remdesivir, Zmapp, or Regeneron. Of these 73 patients, 32 are cured and have been discharged, 21 have died and 20 are still hospitalized.

Excerpts below are from the Emergency meeting. Here are some of my own comments about the outbreak, viruses, and the organizations who put out the information.

While Ebola remains mostly confined to Africa, poverty, and general mistrust, but the most important factor is people fleeing the area causing epidemiological tracing to be very difficult. Keep in mind the meeting was from WHO, I know there is plenty distrust in the organization, so take from it what you will and decide on your own. Do this based on your own research and forming your own opinion...As this forum should be. Do not take anything I say/said as total fact. I'm reality, most of the population is not well studied on these events and it is up to the reader to do their due diligence, if they are truly curious about these events and the government/organizations that release the news.

As with any virus, they are constantly changing all the time, each infection allows the potential for genetic changes that could result in more efficient transmission. This is what many do not understand....Today's Ebola, always has the chance to become something much more. Each new case allows the genetic dice to be rolled. Co-infection with other viruses could also potentially allow for greater ease of spread, as coughing and sneezing would provide easier means of transmission.

Key Challenges

After discussion and deliberation on the information provided, the Committee concluded that this Ebola outbreak is taking place in a particularly complex context and poses several important challenges:

This outbreak is taking place in an active conflict zone amidst prolonged humanitarian crises. Approximately 8 major security incidents have occurred in the Beni area in the past 8 weeks. These factors have complicated contact tracing and other aspects of the response.

• Community mistrust, stemming from a variety of reasons, including the security situation, and people who avoid follow-up or delay seeking care, remain significant problems that require deepening engagement by community, national and international partners.

New cases being identified without epidemiological links are of great concern and require further detailed epidemiological mapping.

• The assessment of the risk of spread is low at global level but it is very high at both national and regional levels. There has been no change to the risk assessment since 28 September.

• Ring vaccination efforts have achieved high coverage rates among eligible populations but rely heavily on highly performing contact tracing in DRC and all countries that may be affected.

The 50% success rate, does not account for those whos immune system was able to defeat the virus on its own. Also we won't know the outcome of those in intensive care for some time. I posted that because I was under the impression based on previous data, the treatments would be more successful.

Also, as many of these disease threads are, they are often not solely based upon the specific virus itself, but rather the tremendous amount of other deadly viruses out there over the globe as well.. The thread is a reminder of how each virus is different, and how under the right circumstances, can make changes, seemingly out of nowhere and become true threats.

Most of the pandemic potential viruses out there are relatively new and have had somewhat limited research on how they work as well as how they change.

A lot of it, is going to be a wait and see situation, until further research can begin to better understand the viruses. We can do tons of animal studies, yet they may not always compare to the human interactions with said virus.

Bottom line is this...Whether it's nature, causing all this to happen, or perhaps intervention from humans to attempt to create a virus for their goals, it's all the same. A watchful eye is needed to understand threats posed by viruses/bacteria.
