I watched First Man.

It’s funny, because there’s a scene in the middle of the film where Neil Armstrong’s son raises an American flag in front of their house. It was a very patriotic moment in the film.

So, I thought, why wouldn’t they plant the flag on the moon? The film has no problem with American patriotism. Is the director trying to tell us something?

The ending, when they land on the Moon, struck me as funny. It really does seem like the director was trying to recreate exactly what we all saw on television. It really did look like a 1960s movie set. What was supposed to be the sun seems like movie lighting. The moon surface looks fake, perhaps on-purpose.

So, I did a little digging.

The director is Damien Chazelle, and happens to be a HUGE Stanley Kubrick fan.

In 2010, he lists Kubrick’s ‘Barry Lyndon’ as one of his favorite films ever: [link to m.imdb.com (secure)]

In 2014, it’s reported that his favorite film ever is Kubrick’s ‘Full Metal Jacket’ - [link to www.bostonglobe.com (secure)]

Wow, this guy LOVES Kubrick.

Most here already know that Kubrick may have told us he helped fake the moon landing in The Shining.

I think there’s a really good chance that the non-flag-plant, and the ensuing media storm surrounding it, were likely done on-purpose.

Could the director of First Man, Damien Chazelle, be saying “the USA never went to the Moon. This is a work of fiction” with a wink and a nudge, in honor of his favorite director, and possible moon hoax director, Stanley Kubrick?

Did you read the OP? There is a scene in the middle of the movie where Neil Armstrong's son raises an American flag in their yard, or on their front porch. It was a very patriotic moment in the movie. So, the director clearly doesn't hate the American flag.

Was the moon landing faked by NASA and Stanley Kubrick in an effort to cover up the failure to execute John F. Kennedy’s bold desire to have a man on the moon before the end of the 1960s? We discuss the theory with Bart Sibrel, who shares unedited NASA footage of the mission, and explains the reasons why the lunar landing was not possible in this uncensored Buzzsaw interview hosted by Sean Stone.

They created the great experiment and found out that free thinking was bad for business. They are steadily trying to destroy your identity and legacy. They will do this until they either win or you destroy them for real.

Did you think they were going to stop at destroying statues? You better get your fucking head in the game!

No, the flag planting was omitted because it was not a quick event. They had trouble getting it in the ground and had to hammer it in with another tool then couldn't extend the crossbar all the way. This movie only has a very short time on the moon as it is more about the lead up to it and Neil's life. They DO however still show the flag on the moon.

I don't remember exactly. It was visible after Neil's first step when both were on the surface. I still maintain that the full flag planting wouldn't have fit with the movie.

Apollo missions never went to the moon.

We did, however, go to the moon.. And were told to leave and not come back. And the ship was escorted away.
