you did not buy anything my friend, what you did is you just pay a brick per month, the house is not yours until its fully paid.... sorry to break the glass but people always have this illusion of ooh i bought this ooh i bought that but in fact they are paying per month ... so yea sorry if i woke you up. its all an illusion :)

Pay off your loan as absolutely fast as you can. Otherwise, that $102,000 is going to cost you several hundred thousand, more if you think of the progress you could have made if you did not have to give that money away as fast as you make it.

When you make a payment, you are paying principal + interest. They make you think its an investment, and that it is a tax advantage to keep paying interest. This makes you a slave, and makes them rich.

Call the bank and ask the balance of your principal account. They will laugh at you. They can only tell you how much it would take to pay off that loan. The difference is theoretically yours, but who is holding it? Not you! You will not receive a penny of your principle until you sell to someone else...int eh mean time, it belongs to the bank.

Don't buy that new car, don't take that vacay... Don't buy anything you absolutely do not need to exist, as long as you have a mortgage. Your future is at stake.

Today, $102,000 is like 3 new cars. Cars are paid off in 3-5 years.

If you have that, might want to add extra toward principal to get rid of it sooner. I think it goes away once you paid off at least 20% of the loan? It will free up cash flow for you to spend on something else or just add more toward principal to pay down the loan faster.

102K is pretty low so depending on how much you make from the job, you'd pay it off rather quickly if you wanted to.

Always pay like a $100 minimum and watch things really move in about 6 years. Your outstanding balance is lower and your home is worth more. Nice time to do an equity loan for improvements. Increase price more with improvs...consider selling and upgrading or chilling and relaxing.

just pay a little extra every month..whatever you can afford to put down. my parents did that and saved like $80,000 by paying off the house 12 years early

we did a 10 year 120k @2.37 3 years ago. Ill be excited to have a mortgage paid off before I'm 50.
