Someone at the state level asked me for my idea on global trade. I wrote a pretty scathing piece for them.

Just finished it now. Took about a week of google scholar'ing and getting valued and vetted information.

Here's an excerpt:
"I think it’s interesting how the global trade system operates and how we can put stops on various things in trade in order to increase their value (in effect shorting supply and demand.) If you ask me it’s just extra busy-boy type of jobs. I don’t really think a country needs a full team of people for each and every industry to make standards for limits of imports and exports. At most it can be limited to spreadsheets with market caps clearly defined and in its most lean format it can be kept in a format with other industries and caps. People always try to talk about the “good things” about economics and the systems in place but every single time I find something like this where it interrupts the “supply and demand” of everything. While the global marketplace is interesting I feel that it’s really nothing more than countries and people trying to make a name/standard for themselves. True supply and demand wouldn’t allow a country to put limits on imports and exports. I think there's a great evil at work here."

Read some published white papers and doctorates. Try to adopt their tone. Also be more specific. Name your "they"s.
We aren't cut out to be socialists. We are the people who couldn't be constrained by Europe. We are the malcontents, idealists, speculators, dreamers, inventors, debtors and criminals who would not be chained. We don't play well with others, we are brash, outlandish and cunning. let us do what we do best; let us be Americans.
