Breaking: Various sources are now reporting that head of NATO mission in AFG General Scott Miller is also wounded in Kandahar attack. A source told @CombatJourno that Gen Miller "rolled behind the Sofa & took cover". Resolute Support initial reports suggested he had left earlier.

Gen. Abdul Raziq, the police chief of Kandahar and a giant presence in the south, as well as the governor of Kandahar and the NDS chief of the province killed in shootings, officials confirm.

That's just wiping out the entire provincial leadership.

Holy shit. Raziq, the brutal strongman of Kandahar whom the US/NATO let get away with murder over and over again because he kept their FOB and supply routes safe, killed. Hard to imagine security equation in Kandahar Province without him.
