Nellie Ohr worked as a contractor for Fusion GPS, the research firm that hired ex-British intelligence agent Christopher Steele to compile the dossier. She is an academic and Russia expert, and relied on open source documents to pull together information on Russian oligarchs as part of her employment with Fusion GPS, according to a person with knowledge of her work for the firm. Nellie and Bruce Ohr were thrown into the Russia fight last year after Fusion GPS' Glenn Simpson disclosed in a court filing last year that Nellie Ohr worked for Fusion on "research and analysis of Mr. Trump," and that Simpson met with Bruce Ohr "at his request, after the November 2016 election to discuss our findings regarding Russia and the election." This morning, though, sources have told The Daily Caller that Nellie has refused to appear at her hearing and that House Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte wants to subpoena her. The sources mentioned “that former FBI general counsel James Baker is not cooperating with the committees’ request for an interview.” Fox News reported after Bruce Ohr’s testimony that Rep. An expert on Russia, Nellie Ohr worked for Fusion GPS from late 2015 through the 2016 election. During that timeframe, Fusion GPS was working on two Russia-related projects. The first was the investigation into President Donald Trump’s possible links to Russia. Perkins Coie, the law firm for the Democratic National Committee and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s campaign hired Fusion GPS in spring 2016 to carry out that probe. Fusion in turn hired Christopher Steele, a former British spy who would go on to compile 17 memos alleging a massive conspiracy between the Trump campaign and Kremlin.
