That was just before they changed the payouts to guarantee $1,000,000 for 5 and just paid a %. Pissed him off and he never played it again. He still won good money, but not near a million. Someone wants him to wake up, nudges him hard, and he just says oh look at that, and cracks another beer. The young woman got her boobs done. She was a druggy too! Seems that the ones who would get homes for the poor and eco farms going and councils of citizens and legal group to comb every abusive crime turned into a law, pseudo law on the book federally, provincially and locally and then mount legal cases to blow the criminal pseudo laws out of the water, nah the good don't win. I believe the big wins are rigged, when the lotto builds up to a very high amount, but you have a small chance of sharing the prize. Mark In NYC User ID: 76822367 United States 10/20/2018 04:51 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My mother and grandmother and their hairdressers at their fav beauty shop hit a lottery years back in California. Their total was (I think) about $33 million. They took the cash, which cut it down by 35% and taxes took another 37%. But they each wound up with a few million dollars for their five dollar each betting pool. None of the women were paupers and all had comfortable lives before they hit this little bonus cash hit. Mom spent hers on a house, two or three cars for the family, and invested the rest of it. The annual income gave her more than enough to pay property taxes, maintenance, utilities and upkeep on the house, as well as the increased insurance cost of the cars, along with maintenance and fuel for them. And she never touched the principal until she was 84 years old when she knew she would be dead in a year or less from Cancer and she then took a round-the-world cruise with my sister and my daughter. The memories they made together on a near-six month cruise were priceless and they got to see the world, literally. Yes, it cost my mother nearly 400k for the cruise and related side trips, insurance, etc. But to this day my daughter remembers getting to see the world with her dying grandmother and my sister says she’d have never had such an opportunity without mom’s generous invitation. All in all, it was money well spent. My grandmother took her share, paid the taxes on it of course, and put it into the family trust. The trust has paid for the upkeep on three houses and two apartments the family has owned since the 1930’s. My grandfather bought Real Estate cheap during the depression and rented them out to pay their taxes, etc. When the war came along, the value of the Real Property skyrocketed and the houses and the co-op’s were long ago paid for. The big house in Riverdale NY is still a ‘family’ compound and we gather there at various times of the year. The two co-op’s in NYC have increased to many many times what they were acquired for although their maintenance and taxes have skyrocketed over the years, too. We’ve been able to keep one rented (fully furnished and staffed) for a tidy sum which is sufficient to pay the costs of maintenance on that co-op and the other one as well, plus the cost of staff to keep them ready to occupy with a few hours notice if one of us is going to be in NYC for more than a day or so. I’m thinking about selling one of the co-op’s but the tax bite will be horrendous and the other beneficiaries of the trust do not want the tax hit, even though they’d net a whole lot of cash after taxes were paid. All the family members get distributions from the trust (subject to certain annual limits) that are paid monthly or quarterly. It’s enough to live on modestly, or if they choose to work or go to school, it can make their lives very comfortable couple with their other earned income. The way it’s set up, it seems the income will go on, and increase a little each year, for the next 40 years or so. Beyond that, the best financial firms and planners cannot even project the value of assets that far out. It’s diversified enough that it’s unlikely it could all be depleted even by a major world war. But who knows today with our ability to destroy the planet if the madmen in power resort to a full nuclear exchange. At that point no amount of money will keep you safe. Life really is a banquet - and truly - most poor sucker are starving! Enjoy the ride baby. |

Every day he has a stack of scratch tickets and this has been his way of life for about 20 years. He also likes pull tabs. When the one great scorer comes to write against your name, he writes not that you won or lost but how you played the game. The stance and stare of a wolf you find yourself alone with will tell you that he is prepared to treat you as you would treat him.
