It's not a walk in the park being married with kids. It's tough. Life would be A LOT easier for me finacially and career wise if I didn't have kids. Which is why the government incentives the public to still have kids and get married. If the population stagnates, then the pyramid scheme falls apart.

Agreed, however those with no kids are just as deserving of minimizing involuntary theft of their income. We can't opt out of paying for your children's schools.

Any new tax cut should be across the board. Incentives would still be in place for those with children.

AS a divorced "empty nester", I'm ok with that.
When I was married & had a litter of children, I was poor, and life was tough.

Now that the children have moved away, I have a lot more money, even without the kid's tax deductions.

I hear you there. Especially since my children went to private/charter schools.
Grand daughter still living with me, and it's the same thing. No public schools, yet 1/3 of my property taxes pay for them.
