these rich guys probably faked their death and collected on the life insurance. age old scam. they probably put a few of the board members they didn't like or owed money to in the helicopter as decoys.. comp them with game tickets and helicopter ride make them feel like the boss man for the day. boom! kill two birds with one stone.

cool name Srivaddhanaprabha.. has a company called King Power worth 3.3 billion.. might be hunted down by the saudi owners of manchester trying to take over all of england.. all of the kings fighting over control of the mother land behind the scenes.. taking out each others limos yachts bank accounts and helicopters oh my!

WTF they cut out the part where white smoke pours from the engine before take off... never trust stupid newspaper editors. Always cutting stuff out.

My query here is that prior to take off is the chopper facing the same way it appeared to be prior to take off on the premier league tonight show.

As soon as it was past the safety of the stadium it came down - which implies someone waiting just beyond with targeting device.

Possible projectiles - from more than one direction = hard to say.

The ground footage seen on the Sun's website was taken by someone who was standing next to one of those stewards wearing the hi-vis jacket as seen in the BT footage which was taken opposite them.

do you see what I mean - behind it is KING POWER and behind the tail is LEICESTER - then the camera changes and it hasn't moved yet but what is behind is different - have a look see if you can see what I am getting at.

One shaken witnesses told The Sun: I've seen that helicopter take off lots of times, but I've never noticed it take so long to get up and stay up there in the same position in the sky for that length of time."Normally it goes straight up, and it's gone.
But this time, it seemed to take a long time to get up, and it stayed in the same place which seemed very unusual.

Aviation expert David Learmount said the aircraft appeared normal at take-off, and it was only at the point the pilot tried to turn to leave the stadium that it seemed to get into difficulty.

Mr Learmount said: "At lift-off you can't see anything that's abnormal, but it's an awkward job climbing out of a stadium because ideally you want some forward speed as well as continuing to climb.

"The pilot climbed very nearly vertically until he was above the height of the stadium and then started to turn to the right - it was very shortly after that control was lost.

"Just after he did a manoeuvre that seemed to be intended, he lost control."

Ascent after take off was possibly too vertical, too high, too fast, as a result of a mechanical fault or which lead to a mechanical problem?


edit: just had another look at the sun's footage. You need to watch it very closely, but at the 37 seconds to 43 seconds mark it very much appears to me that the helicopter turns ever so slightly to its left while still in the early take off phase. It does come across as odd for that to happen so early in flight so it doesn't seem to be something that the pilot would have intended to do.

Who knows for sure if there was a problem prior to the 37 second mark (the smoke thing?), but it does look like 37 seconds in is when the problem possibly first became noticeable to the observer during flight.

Thai court rejects lawsuit against company of Leicester City owner

AFP -September 18, 2018


A Thai court Tuesday dismissed a lawsuit accusing duty-free giant King Power, the firm that owns Leicester City Football Club, of owing the state more than $430 million in unpaid revenues.

The judge on Tuesday dismissed Charnchai’s complaint on the grounds that he did not have “legal authorisation to file a charge” because he was not personally affected.

Charnchai, who became a shareholder of AOT in 2015, said the massive loss in revenues affects the public.

“The country has suffered huge damage,” he said. “The wrongdoing and corruption went on for more than 10 years.”

Charnchai said he would either appeal the case or bring it to the National Anti-Corruption Commission.

That case was a rare pot shot by King Power's enemies. But without the shield provided by Vichai, the family could be vulnerable to avaricious rivals and moves to break up their monopoly.

Helicopter disaster which killed Leicester City owner and four others was sparked by its 'tail rotor flying off', senior air crash investigator says

Tony Cable, a former senior investigator at the Air Accident Investigations Branch (AAIB), said this was catastrophic for Vichai and his team - but said it can be survivable.

'The take off looked normal but as it hovered above the stadium you can see pieces falling away. It looks like it was from the rear rotor blade,' he said.

'The spinning around five seconds later is consistent with a tail rotor breaking off. There are lots of pieces flying around. If you lose a large proportion of the blade you get a very large imbalance and pull the whole tail rotor off the aircraft'.

He told Sky News: 'The usual thing to do is to chop the power and enter a controlled descent - that [helicopter] was clearly way out of control'.

He added: 'Pilots are trained for this. It is survivable with the appropriate technique. It shouldn't be catastrophic'.

But aviation expert Jim Rowlands, a former RAF Puma crew member, told The Sun: 'There's no real coming back from that. The only way is down.

'The pilot has clearly done an incredible job, really'.

Safety checks have been ordered on helicopters of a similar design to the one involved in a crash which killed the owner of Leicester City.

European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has issued an emergency Airworthiness Directive focussing on the tail rotor of the AW169.

It states: "While the helicopter was on a take-off phase at low forward speed, a loss of yaw control has been observed.

"As a precautionary measure, Leonardo issued ASB 169-120 for AW169 helicopters to provide inspection instructions to check correct installation of the tail rotor (TR) servo-actuator."
