I thought that was odd. We had a hostage situation across the street from where I used to live. The SWAT set up in a park kitty-corner from my home. They referred to the park as the staging area. No one was injured and the guy surrendered, but, that is actually a term. Actor as well. As in 'active shooter'. The one that is causing an action, the actor. |

Usually you will hear the suspect, the perpetrator, the shooter or alleged shooter etc. I will add that i searched Police terminology and did find that "Accessory" is someone who is not the chief actor in a crime. Just found it interesting that of all the events i've followed over the years on GLP this is the first time i've seen the use of this police terminology although i admit i may have missed it previously. You missed it because it has been used multiple times. An accessory to a crime is someone other than the main actor, someone who maybe hides or gets rid of a weapon. Perhaps someone that drives the main actor or perp to the scene where the crime is then committed. This crap just kills me, y'all are trying way too hard to make something into make believe when you already are in a make believe world of your own.
