Back when Bill Clinton was president, you could go out on Halloween and it was rare to find a house that wasn't participating in the customary trick or treat.

Well, last night I took my kids out and I'd estimate about 1/10 homes participated.

To be fair, I realize a large majority of those homes are owned by people who trick or treated when they were kids, but I also know there are countless immigrants who have moved into the neighborhood. Not a single non-white homeowner answered the door the entire evening.

I do believe that is telling.

It was also very sad to walk down a dark street with several porch lights out.

Look, it's not about "getting free candy". I don't even let my kids eat the stuff except a few pieces, it's about the community and the participating and saying hi to the neighbors. It's a community bond, and one that appears to be disappearing.

But then it makes sense, how can customs and traditions continue if you replace the people who uphold those customs and traditions?

Not only are they not assimilating, their cultures are being shoved down our throats.

Who is gonna buy $12 a bag candy to give away when most jobs pay $9 an hour?

Things are gonna get worse.

I never considered that people simply couldn't afford it. How will those people ever participate in Christmas?

Very frugally I suppose.
Christmas is in a different class of Holiday IMHO, when people start skipping on that, you know the end is near. I live in Fort Lauderdale FL and its wall to wall beggars and bums everywhere. The typical working wage is the same a Welfare person gets. The Cops ignore crime in favor of writing tickets all day. This place should be studied its so bad.
The style of government has proliferated under Obama and has not slowed down even with DJT.
Imagine the Cops conning an old widow needing an ambulance out of her late husband's gun collection for pennies on the dollar.
This is the type of public servants we have down here.

all you need is love in your heart, a meal with others and the gift of a hug to share Christmas

and reverence for the Christ Child.

I bought 3 bags of candy to give out and I only had 2 small groups of kids come to my door last night. Granted, it was raining a little bit, but I was shocked that no one showed up.

So not only are people not giving away candy, the kids aren't even going out for it. Weird!

Under Clinton people were much happier. Halloween was fun!

Now I am so ashamed of my neighbors I don’t even want to look at them let alone talk to them.

They’ve turned our country into a joke.

Yes and at the same time. They are living large. Off the benefits provided.

So now the pattern as its always been. Is to cut off benefits and put pressure. Until ppl get really uppity.. restless violent

History has already told us how this plays out

Yes, seems more like an invasion and forcing the natives to assimilate

They forgot the natives have a constitution and guns though. Oops

we stopped doing it about 10-12 years ago when all the black 15-25 year old men decided they were children and were going to go to the "white neighborhoods" and get the "good candy".

My neighborhood was filled with families trick or treating! It was my first year here. Will have way more candy next year.
