That Scott toilet paper would shave them. Just pet them with it. I call it sandpaper toilet paper.

I'm sticking with my Charmin.....At least until the world is ending. I might change brands then.

A roll of Charmin last me about 3 days. A roll of Scott over a week.
When we can't leave our homes and have no electricity for about 15-20 weeks... you're gonna run out.

How many rolls do you keep stocked at one time?

Toilet paper is important but not a necessity .also if proper trash discipline isn't followed it can lead to a swift end .

Dig a hole use the bathroom cleanup and bury everything at least two feet . Then sweep the area clean and replace brush and foliage .

This is probably not the correct place to post this, but I haven’t been on the board for very long. I finally see the necessity of prepping but don’t know where to begin.

I have a few possible obstacles I don’t know how to prepare for.

I am a younger single woman, no children, and I live in an apartment complex in a Midwestern suburb. Storage space is limited, plus obviously I don’t own this place. What things do I need and how much?

I have a medical condition that requires medication. In the event of a total collapse of civilization, I don’t expect access to it any longer and without it, I will die. I guess I need to know about medications? Is there a way to stockpile them? Funds are an issue as the medications are very expensive if I don’t use my insurance.

I have a few things going for me, I know how to fish, how to use a gun, how to grow vegetables at least; though I have no room to do so.

Any advice is appreciated.

First, decide if you have a place to go to if//when needed - a friend's cabin in the woods, a farm, something away from the city, where there will be at least one other like-minded person who has also prepped, and would welcome you. Then decide if you could realistically get there if needed.

After that we can talk about preps - but first figure out if you can get out of town to a safe place. If you have to shelter in place, that's harder in an apartment complex and I wouldn't want to have to do it.

Any shirt-tail relatives with farms or off-grid places? Former boss? Former neighbor? Anybody?

Talk to your pharmacist. Tell them you are a prepper, this is a thing. Also find out about your condition and how to treat symptoms in an emergency.

Remember that you might have to be mobile. If you have to evacuate your town then have a plan. Call friends now and secure their addresses and sleeping arrangements. Keep a list and update it.

I went to my pharamcist and asked for narcan because there is a possibility of fentynl chemical biological attacks on food supplies. I told the pharmacist everything. They give out narcan for overdoses to anyone, no prescription needed. It was $30 to add it to my emergency supplies.

If I told my pharmacist I was a prepper and needed extra meds they would look at me like I was crazy. I don't know what pharmacy you use but the one here isn't going to give anyone extra meds for prepping.

You're very lucky to have that kind of relationship with your pharmacist. Most of us don't.

I have a few possible obstacles I don’t know how to prepare for.

-------

No matter what happens, your NEEDS for survival are:

Shelter
Water
Fire
Food
in that order.

For any survival tools or bug out bag I would suggest to start with...

A good knife/machete
A fire starter (matches/lighters)
A metal pot (to boil water)
Cordage (rope, twine, paracord, fishing line, etc)

Those are the bare basics.
