Dr. Astro nailed it. No 15 Km. monster Asteroid dubbed Gog to hit Earth on August 29, 2027, Spanish writer proven full of Sh*t.

Gog's projected impact point: 326 Km.out to the east of the Bermudas Islands, in the Atlantic.

By the time it was discovered, Gog was visible faintly at these sky coordinates:

Right Ascension: 21 h 42 ' 34"
Declination: 58° 44' 12"
Constellation CEPHEUS.

The magnitude by then was 19.5.

According to the book the object is extremely dark, only reflects 4% of the light received, it is allegedly mostly composed of graphite, it has some outgassing activity, and it's also "peanut shaped" but with a very narrow connection of the two bulges of the peanut.

When you google some of the character names in the book, it gets spooky.

The first dead astronomer in the book is German, working for a Spanish observatory, Calar Alto. He dies in a tragic car crash that is later said to not have been accidental. The name in the book is Kurt Birke. In real life there was a German Astronomer named Kurt Birkle who worked at Calar Alto observatory and passed in 2010, in a tragic accident...

Well 15 kilometers.. that's a world killer, so if it does hit, we won't need to worry so much about it.

Then again, maybe that's why there's such a big push to go settle mars, despite the ridiculous risk of it.

Indeed we have plenty of time to do so. But as I said, the issue of destroying or deviating it to avoid the collision, has already been discarded because those who know about it are preparing to survive and have the tactical advantage and dominance of the resulting world.

No Mars evacuation plans are discussed in the book, just underground shelters for selected people.

Allegedly the USA knows and wants to keep it secret, to avoid an effort to divert the asteroid, and prepare to take the global dominance after the events.

That's because you aren't paying attention.. the propaganda for Mars settlement has been going strong!

I am aware of the publicity and of most of the projects ongoing. When I refer to the plans I do so in the context of what this book states about asteroid Gog and the information the author conveys in the form of a fiction book based in actual and current events.

I am really interested in knowing Dr. Astro's opinion. According to the book the Asteroid is advancing at 95 km/s and is around 150 AU from Earth. It has been observed by the Calar Alto observatory by an Astronomer called Kurt Birke, when in real life there was an astrononer named Kurt Birkle that worked at Calar Alto and died in 2010 in an accident. It has also been observed from the Cerro Tololo, by two female astronomers called Stare and Yuri (Stare is Canadian with native American heritage, Yuri is Corean). It was. Seen also from the Kilauea observatory by an Astronomer called Marc that is now dead. It was also observed from ALMA observatory.

I've been trying to contrast characters of the book with the real life counterparts.

The German Astronomer Kurt Birke of the book, has his real life counterpart Kurt Birkle, who died in an accident in 2010.

The Chilean Journalist Jorge Anfruns of the book, has his real counterpart in Chilean Publicist and social comunicator, and lifetime ufologist Jorge Anfrunsm who died from lung disease in 2011.

If one considers that both characters of the book died because of their knowledge of Gog, and looks at the date of death of their real life counterparts, one might think that Gog is not 9 years away, but merely 1 to 2 years in the future.

One has to take in account what J.J. Benitez says himself about the book:

"The important part of this book is not what you can read, but what your intuition tells about it".

"The information of this book is of so crucial importance, that it is probably fake. Sincerely, if you don't read, is better for you"

I had not realized the extent to which J.J. Benitez has amassed a cult like following of people.

The Trojan Horse series of books, which are basically about two time travelers that experience Jesus's life at various points, are perceived by some people as deeply revealing books about the nature of Jesus, and his message. When I read books 1 through 6 (never read the other 3 that came out later) I was much more interested in the time traveling technology (they called it Swivel) and some aspects of the life of Jesus described there, specially the account after the resurrection.

But I now realize that many people in the hispanic parlant world have taken JJ Benitez books as a sort of new Gospel, and that in these books Jesus, who interacted with the time travelers knowing who they were, made certain criptic revelations. One of thos is that his return will be after the great rock, which is assumed to be Gog.

He also hints that he is coming back in a sort of technological craft, a few years after the devastation of Gog happens.

I have not been able to find any data about the only other character in the book who is mentioned with name and surname, a Student Astronomer from Pennsylvania University called Ray Bush, but he only is mentioned as being injured by other of the characters to avoid him finding about the observation of Gog taking place.

Think I'll be keeping an eye on this thread.

There's not much else to add at this point. I'd love if someone could bring Dr. Astro's attention here, so far he has completely ignored this thread.

The astronomical data for observation of Gog given in the book might as well be a red herring, the author admitedly introduced errors in the book to hinder its credibility, due to the horrendous nature of the claims made.

But anyway Dr. Astro's opinion on the characteristics of Gog given in the book could be interesting.

Yeah I'd be interested to hear his take on it too. Don't know much if it's a case of ignoring rather than he's working on lots of things at the same time. Fingers crossed sees it though.

I tried to post this the other day but had no time to complete.

Hope it now works. Is the alleged impact zone of Gog when and if it's real.

Here there are other images from the book.

Allegedly the Canadian Astrophycisist has an inherited ability to remote view, and she decides to make a RV session to look at Gog in detail. The author drew two sketches from that session. In the session the Astrophycicist sees some carved numbers on the asteroid, which is odd by any standard. She also sees "angels" (little blobs of light) surrounding the asteroid "protecting" it.

The other image is from the main inundation zone of the inmediate blast, and the alleged predicted eruption of volcanoes in the Indonesia / Sumatra arc.

I think it's not uncommon for asteroids to have debris and companion rocks.. akin to their own satellites, could be an explanation for 'angels' .. the numbers though? hmmm

Where is Dr. Astro? He's usually all over these posts. Must be on vacation or still asleep . . .

Unfortunately one has to take this book in the context of the rest of the work of JJ Benitez. He has been writing about Jesus for two decades, and he has become profoundly believer in the paranormal, so when he writes angels he literally means angels. He suggests that this is all part of the unraveling of scripture, both literally and figuratively.

I think he is busy, albeit I read a comment by him in another thread today. Perhaps he is not interested in this issue in particular.
