You guys are missing a very simple point!

Wait for it .....

When Jesus spoke, the Church was not born. Not until Pentecost. So Jesus was addressing.....the J o o sz!

Paul's ministry was to...... The gentiles and the body of Christ. The church.

Get it?

The law was not dead until after he rose so the Juuuze were still under the Law!

AND Paul (Saul) did meet Jesus on the road to Damascus. Jesus made Paul's ministry the gentiles not the Juuuze!
 Quoting: Neenerner

I don't know how you figure that the "church" wasn't born when Jesus was speaking. It's pretty easy to surmise that many of those who listened to and followed Jesus were the first ones to be baptised by the Apostles.

Jesus didn't turn away ANYONE.

The "crumbs" / pagan woman.
The centurion.
The Samaritans.

And Paul?

The very first folks he preached to were Hebrews.
AND many of the places he went to had Hebrew synagogues.
 Quoting: TheLordsServant

Ate you denying that Pauls ministry was the gentiles? Look at the beginning of most of his letters.
Also Romans 15;16. Undeniable.

Jesus had to do for the church age. No grace until a after died. "It is finished.".

And most theolgian believe the church began at Christ death or at Pentecost.

The apostles ministry was the Juuuze.

Paul ministry's was specifically the gentiles.

Crystal clear in the OT.
 Quoting: Neenerner

I "ate" denying anything tounge

"It is finished" is in reference to the MISSION that the Father had sent Jesus for!

As posted previously up above, grace actually given in the Old Testament times by the Father.

Jesus ALSO said...and this verse proves that ALL the Apostles were to go "among the nations". Not just Paul.

Luke 24:47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

Where does grace actually come from?

Forgiveness

What is the main act that needs to be done to receive forgiveness?

Repentence.

Thread: Repentance - A Deeper Look - Definition of "Repent" & The Importance of Repentance
 Quoting: TheLordsServant

To receive grace you believe!
You repent Because you received grace.
Yes in that order. Ephesians 2:8
 Quoting: Neenerner

Nope.

Repenting comes before grace.

What did Peter tell the "throng" of people who asked him "what should we do"?

Acts 2

37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Jesus' very first teaching was to "repent".

Matthew 4:17 (KJV) From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Mark 1:15 And saying*, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe* the gospel.

The message of Jesus' ministry was so important that the Father had John the Baptist "rattle their cages" ahead of time to "pave the way" for Jesus' ministry.

The key teaching by John the Baptist?

Matthew 3:2 and saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!"

Jesus ALSO said...and this verse proves that ALL the Apostles were to go "among the nations". Not just Paul.

Luke 24:47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

(Repent in the KJV OT)

That's my whole point! Paul's gospel differed because the had 2 different audiences.

Paul said:
That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost.
Romans:15:16

On the matter of grace through repentance....

Ephesians chapter 1. The minute you believe you are sealed.

As a sealed believer, it can't be undone.

Else you would have to get sealed again every time you repent.

A Saved sealed believer can not get unsaved.

That's works.

...not by works lest no man shod boast.

Hey I repented better than you so you suck! I don't think so. That's bragging

If you can brag about it, any act such as repentance, it is not A condition of salvation. It can't be.

When God saves somebody who or what do you think can undo the hand of God?

The only requirement is that you truly believe. Have a "saving" belief and are truly saved.

A truly save person delights himself in the laws of the Lord! And no matter how many times you fall, you are a till saved. God knows your sin before you do it. He knows your heart. All bbefore you are sealed.

Yes there are people that will argue other wise all day long. But if you read Ephesians and Romans a few times, out Dawn's on you that once you belong to God, nobody can take you away.

That's why it's called grace because it's free! And there is no way we deserve it.

The only other option is you remain under the law. And try to be good!

You can't even remember every sin you committed so how can you confess them all?

Or you can go tell God you repented and you dam well expect to be saved.
