I want you to remember my story tomorrow.
GLP, I want you to know that my husband has been sick for the past 3 months. I'm writing this from the Operating Room waiting area, and he's been in surgery today since 11:50 AM (est). He's still in there. You don't know how I felt last week as I watched him crutch up the Court House steps to submit his absentee ballot. There was no way he was going to miss this election.

Your prayers are appreciated. But also tomorrow, when it's too cold, too rainy, you're too tired...please, think of what veterans do just so we have the freedom to vote. Think about patriots (non-veterans), like my husband, that cross hell and high water to make sure their voice is heard. Please make sure YOUR voice is heard.

Thanks!hearts

Thank you and your husband for your service and may the Lord bless and keep you. Also praying for a speedy recovery. Let your husband know I’ll be voting tomorrow. I never served but I take my civic duty seriously as well as my obligations to God.

What your husband did is no surprise to me at all. I know many veterans. That's who they are.

Everything that I own has been loaned to me from God, the US military, and my family. In that order. At this stage of my life I'm repaying those loans.

PM me if you need anything. In the meantime I'll be praying for his full recovery and that the Spirit of the Creator of the universe will descend upon his family and friends for comfort. Be comforted in the love of the Creator.

I'm not sure OP's husband is a vet by the way she wrote her post. She called him a patriot for getting out to vote when in a bad condition. Either way, they both need our prayers.

OP, what's your husband's name?
In his poem Human Pride, Marx admits that his aim is not to improve the world, reform or revolutionize it, but simply to ruin it and enjoy it being ruined:

With disdain I will throw my gauntlet full in the face of the world,
And see the collapse of this pygmy giant whose fall will not stifle my ardor.
Then will I wander godlike and victorious through the ruins of the world
And, giving my words an active force, I will feel equal to the Creator.
