Earlier this year, scientists identified the existence of a brand new DNA structure never before seen in living cells. That's right, it's not just the double helix.
The discovery of what's described as a 'twisted knot' of DNA in living cells confirms our complex genetic code is crafted with more intricate symmetry than just the double helix structure everybody associates with DNA. Importantly, the forms these molecular variants take affect how our biology functions.
"When most of us think of DNA, we think of the double helix," said antibody therapeutics researcher Daniel Christ from the Garvan Institute of Medical Research in Australia back in April when the discovery was made.
"This new research reminds us that totally different DNA structures exist – and could well be important for our cells."

I wouldn't say we're being upgraded. I'd say from looking at the civilization cycles (hidden by most main stream researchers) that we're returning back to former 'glory' if anything.
There's a vast ammount of evidence that our predecessors were more advanced than us, both in more natural technology, and even in size.
There's a reason all the skeletons of people 9-12 feet tall began being covered up with the dawn of ultra-Darwinist scientists. Anything that showed humanity, like all of life, does not go in a straight line of 'progress' was cast aside, and in many cases covered up. The thought that modern humans may be a devolution of previous humans was appalling to their ideology.
Tales of 'Giant' humans abound (i'm not talking 20 feet and above) from Easter Island, to the Americas, to Sardinia, through nearly all the globe where ancient oral histories have been passed down. Oddly enough many of them say the 'giants' tended to have red hair. (A hunch as to why so much of Celtic culture has been almost completely eradicated from the world, particularly their local histories)
C. F Brehnens who was present when Easter Island was discovered in 1722 wrote of "The men are tall and broad in proportion, averaging 12 feet in height. Surprising as it may appear the tallest man on board of our ship could pass between the legs of these children of Goliath without bending the head. The women can not compare in stature with the mean, as they are commonly not above 10 feet high." The true Easter Island natives were all but genocided, those on there now are mainly polynesians who came after the populous was decimated.
Magellan spoke of an encounter with a giant in America.
As did Sir Francis Drake.
This all may seem irrelevant to the topic, but I think it reinforces that a discovery like this is not an upgrade as the title said, but more of a a rediscovery.
