ruser User ID: 73660801 United States 11/07/2018 05:45 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Yes. That is exactly where your gall bladder resides! No joke, go see MD - or get her to ER. If gall stones are blocking primary liver bile duct, it is life threatening! The gall bladder can also explode, (or get infected)...It happened to me, and being a long time glpr - did not go to MD, (or hospital)....(and pain kicked hard core - at 2:00 am, and by then it was almost too late). I do not fit the profile of being someone with gall bladder issues! (So it was genetic). Anyone in her family suffer with this? I ended up needing 2 surgeries- due to trying to "tough it out," and bad advice from "on call" MD's (by phone). Nobody likes going to the hospital! But this problem can be solved. Nurses were very kind, said it's not a big deal any longer, (as it is laparoscopic surgery now). Keep us posted ok?! Last Edited by ruser on 11/07/2018 05:48 PM ruser |
Rachael123 User ID: 76881693 United States 11/07/2018 05:47 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Hello, Quoting: steveooo9 my girlfriend has some issues for 5 days now where she has stabbing pain on some positions in the upper right corner of the abdomen. She was at her doctor and she did a CT scan and a general check, but didn't find anything. When sitting or standing, there isn't any pain, but when laying down or when coughing, the pain comes back. Any idea what this could be? Thank you for your help! I know this isn't a replacement for a doctor, but oftentimes, you guys and girls have very good ideas! Sounds like a pulled muscle .She needs to rest and give it time. |

This ^^ The fact that there isn't any pain when sitting or standing, and pain only occurs when lying down (prone) or coughing, strongly indicates a pulled/torn abdominal wall muscle or hernia. Fortunabeargirl User ID: 73687966 United States 11/08/2018 10:39 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Abdomen you say? I ask bc, except for the location, I occasionally suffer the same symptoms. Mine is on my right side but is lower, where it seems my right overy would be. I always chocked it up to ovulation bc it would only be for a few days, and like your girlfriend, only when I coughed and was lying down. Good news is, I have had this happen off an on for most of my adult life and I'm still kicking! I hope it is something minor for your girlfriend as well. :hf Sometimes I feel like a nut. Anonymous Coward User ID: 76961998 United States 11/08/2018 10:50 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Sounds like it could possibly be the location of the gallbladder... Only reason I know that is because years ago I experienced minor pain/discomfort there and had to go for an evaluation (which confirmed it was gallbladder related)... To test for gallbladder stones they sent me for an Ultrasound... Perhaps your GF can inquire about this? |
oiko User ID: 4226333 United States 11/08/2018 10:55 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | These replies!!! If it were me, if the pain stayed the same, I would get my own blood tested by using a site like this... [link to www.healthlabs.com (secure)] just to be sure it's just a pulled muscle, not something serious. I've used them once, super easy and fast, no appointment and you can request tests that would normally require a Dr's prescription. Saves lots of money and time. But I'm different that way. I have the same thing and 2 CT scans (one with contrast) later NOTHING! I have pain in my gallbladder area and all on the right side down to where my appendix is. I get back pain in my middle right back and above my right hip that comes and goes. Also can feel swollen lymph node in the center of my abdomen. No looking to get more scans. Sick of the daily weird pains. I wonder if it could be intestinal and CT scan just didn't show that. If she says yes there's a good possibility she has a Duodenal ulcer. Easiest way to fix that is spend 4 dollars at Wallyworld for 50 Famotidine. Take one when it hurts and it stops hurting.
