I don't mean to come off like a huge dick here, and I'm not disputing anything in your second paragraph, but you don't know what the fuck you are talking about. If you think Black kids are only killing each other over drugs, you are perpetuating a serious problem you seem to genuinely be concerned with fixing (I am in no way faulting you for that btw).
Furthermore, if Black kids are killing over drugs introduced by an outside force, and that absolves them of some responsibility for their actions, how does a Marine with PTSD not qualify for this same "outside influence" kid glove treatment?
Quoting: GTB Well sure, they also kill each other over beefs (but an overwhelming number of the beefs are from drug/territory disputes).
The Marine, who offered his (misguided) service for something he probably believed was a good cause, has been:
1. Ordered by his commanders to slaughter people including those he KNOWS in his heart he shouldn't slaughter
2. Traumatized and usually injured at some point, that Marine is put, by military medial authorities, on medications they KNOW damn well are addicting and destructive to that Marine and those around him
3. Men sitting around in board rooms--many who have not served, themselves--work night and day to make sure that Marine (and anyone else) has the least chance possible to question i.e. refuse his medication regimen
4. The Army and pharmaceutical men know damn well this kid is a time bomb, and say NOTHING when he is returned stateside to an unsuspecting suburb
So yeah, I don't blame the Marine as much as I might blame the average revenge killer or whomever, although if that civilian is also on painkillers/benzos, they, too, share blame with the Men in Black who make it all possible.
Don't get me wrong--all (or at least most) mass killers share some blame for their actions. But I put more blame on the above-mentioned system.
