MR, after seeing this and other fires and knowing how vulnerable nearly the whole state is, are you fearful of fire? I believe that I would be.

Also, I haven’t seen it widely reported on, but ifn 2008 Paradise had a bad fire that destroyed 74 homes. After that fire, I always felt a little uneasy driving up to Paradise in fire season...there had been much discussion and planning about evacuation routes and plans after that fire, because there were so few roads in and out. THere was a plan in place for this fire, but it was no match for it.

And, some people who lost their homes in 2008, rebuilt them, and just lost them again.

I recall reading an article, which I may have even posted in this thread, that people in Paradise knew they would likely have another big fire. The same can be said for places like Malibu which has also had terrible fires. It takes a long time to drive in and out of those places and they're fire traps. I was just looking, last night, at pictures of a place called Malibu Lake. I was never aware of it when I lived. Intoxicatingly beautiful and all I could think of while looking at the pics was fire trap. It's like if this year's fire didn't get you, the next or the next after that will.
