Maybe they kept it quite so long so they could determine if there were other bombs or other people involved. It is strange to keep it quite so long but bombs don't go off without people knowing about it, so it would seem they were quite for a reason. But it does seem prudent to let the public know asap

They are trying to determine whether there are other bombing plan yet still risking people unknowingly entering area of next potential bombing??? And when there are suspect of multiple bombing, it's potential national security breach = martial law of the area. BS with keeping a low profile to report another day.
