I’m American of Chinese decent, I don’t find it offensive at all. It’s one of my dad’s favorite greetings when his old white friends would come for a visit. He would explain the origins of that saying for the umphteenth time to them and they would all quietly listen till the punchline, then everyone breaks out in backslapping laughter.
