Evicted Kansas Man Had 200-Pound, 7-Foot Alligator In Home; He Called the Pet "a Big Cuddly Lizard" Who "Smiled All the Time"

"A 7-foot-long, 200-pound alligator named Catfish was found in a hot tub by a landlord evicting a tenant in Kansas City on Wednesday.

"A Missouri landlord in the process of evicting a tenant had to call animal control after finding out the resident was living with an unauthorized, 200-pound house guest."

Can't imagine Kansas City police have a lot of experience dealing with large alligators. Would love to have a picture of the 4 officer's faces when they realized what they were dealing with--looked at each other and wondered what the Hell do we do now?

There would be one I'm sure that would go "New purse for the misses and boots for dad. Two for one special on my Christmas list...".

Doesn't surprise me this happened in Kansas City...Sometimes I wish we could just cut off Lawrence to KC and go "Here ya go Missouri, you can have the loons!"

Alligators need water, and no it not a good idea to have a pet gator. I have known people who had them, one was snicking up on a child in their family, they had to shoot the gator. They had been feeding the gator well, so it just it's nature, so leave them in a better place. You can kill it and eat it and use the skin for leather.
Sorry I got a headache

Until he eats you. Which is somewhat of a downside.

Would be interesting to know what the guy told his dates as they joined him in his hot tub. Seems like it might be a bit of a distraction to his romantic advances.....but you never know with women, they are an unpredictable lot....

Any gators found indoors should be ventilated immediately with .40 or .45 caliber holes. Bonus points for OO Buck or Slug.

It is absolutely insane to have a murderous creature anywhere near humans. Not even safe to try to remove it while still alive.
Fill it with fucking holes.

They are very curious creatures. I remember Kayaking down a stream during their mating season. Never have I ever seen so many gators in one place. Even snuck up on two of them going at it in the water. Death rolls and all, but when the two noticed me just a few meters away, they then submerged. That put a primordial fear in me that sent the adrenal glands into overdrive.

Also, they're not as scary as they might seem. Being more concerned for their young than anything, they will flee from a foe that they perceive could bring trouble. Unless you're among the elderly, or youth. Then, you might be in for a swim.

I remember this one allimagator in particular after I came around a bend in the creek. I think I startled him as much as he startled me, being literally feet away from the front of the kayak. It stopped, looked at me in the eyes, made this gargling noise in the water while shaking its head, then, when I shown I wasn't afraid, it sunk and swam away. Looked just like a fish the way they swim underwater.

There was a guy in Harlem or the Bronx a few decades ago, who had to call the cops, cuz he couldn't get into his apartment, because his 2 pets were so out of control.

He had a tiger and an aligator
