Feta cheese. Smells like old wet sweaty socks. Tastes like - well Feta cheese. Can't describe it. Small doses are best though. I wouldn't gnaw on a hunk of it.

Deep fried broccoli. Smells and tastes exactly as it sounds.

Dried cuttlefish is a popular snack in Hawaii. It's stinky like dried out fish, but I've never eaten it (I'm not big on seafood). I assume it's more a texture than anything.

Fermented shrimp/fish paste smells disgusting, like garbage. But Thai food and other dishes don't work without it. You wouldn't eat the paste straight by itself, however. And you use it sparingly. Ancient romans also had some sort of fermented fish paste that they used as seasoning on everything, they apparently loved it.

I've had Japanese natto (fermented soy beans). I guess dried or fermented are some of the key words here. I was so jet lagged I didn't even give it much thought. I supposedly had really good quality natto, though.

I also had some kind of soup in Spain that smelled like awful blood while cooking. Maybe it was some sort of blood soup. As I recall it tasted rather unremarkable.

Durian fruit. I love it.
"Known as the “king of the fruits,” no fruit in Southeast Asia inspires more of a controversy than the durian fruit. There is no middle ground; people either love or loathe the menacing durian. The smell, which has even been compared to roadkill or vomit, has prompted the banning of durian on public transportation.

Once past the medieval-looking exterior and potent smell, the durian yields a soft, delicious flesh with the texture of custard. Numerous health benefits are attributed to the durian, which is high in heart-healthy fat and trace minerals."
