Record Cold This Winter Predicted by NASA Scientist

It has been definitely colder than normal here the past few years.

I am in Wisconsin between Eau Claire & Duluth.

The temp outside is 1 degree. This normally happens in Late January & February.

November is never this cold

Its nippy here in central mx. No central heating in the houses, electric is sky high. Im gonna freeze my bottom off this winter.brrrr.

My gardens which were still green & going last week now look like a bomb went off.

Yep, here in San Antonio, I had to cut back my Plumeria trees about a month early because of this cold snap. The leaves had not even dropped off yet, and still had flowers on them.

We planted star jasmine all around the fence of our yard in July, I hope they are stable enough withstand the freeze we are going to get tonite (Tuesday).

You don't need a scientist to predict this cold winter. Im in the south here in new mexico. I woke up to 14 degrees and its not even thanksgiving and ive got a foot of snow already.

WIth the volcanoes and fires going off its sure to be an exceptionally cold one.

It's freaking snowing here in deep south TX. WTF?

North Western Europe will be worst affected. Its all about the sun spots interaction, or lack of, with the north Atlantic jet stream.

Yeah, I saw that on weather radar when I woke up. I didn't get any here in the city, but it looks like Bandera got a dusting.

Don't mind the cold, I actually prefer -30 degrees for a couple of months compared to +30 that we had this summer for a couple of months. Live in southern Sweden so our winters are usually mild.

I usually travel more north, in the winter, to get in on the snow. I may not have to go anywhere this year. That would be nice.

Yes, it was a very disappointing year here in northern Idaho. I now have hoops and row covers as season extenders, and will start my seeds in two week successive waves in case of early frost kill so I have back up. Lesson learned. Ordering seeds from Johnny's in Maine, who specialize in short season cool climate vegetable seeds....

Most of my hard winter squashes are a bit sour from not making full ripeness. (It turned cool way early in August.) I have discovered if I bake them, the deer go crazy for them. So they stand looking in my kitchen window now, waiting, lol.

I went ahead and bought a bunch of beautiful organic winter squash and pumpkins for my own table in October, they had a 79 cent a pound sale at the super market. Imported from sunny southern Oregon.

I think something's up with the weather, be it chemtrails or a solar minimum. It's been colder than normal in this part of Missouri. We've had two small bouts of snow in less than a week, and they're predicting a third on Thursday. Each round has only been an inch or less, but for mid November, it's very unusual. Lows in the teens tonight!

It's 24 degrees at sunrise here in the high desert of Southern California. This is the third day of pretty darn cold. If it drops 10 degrees below average for the whole winter...that would be great since we are so hot during the summers around here.

That article is talking about the temperature of the thermosphere, not surface temperature. Your title, premise and reading comprehension are flawed. Look at the graph, it’s not that unusual, just a somewhat lower ebb than normal.

I knew instantly that this winter will be brutal when I was out walking in October. There was coldness or dampness that went straight to my bones even though it was 10 degrees above freezing it felt like it was freezing out. I am stocking up non perishable stuff so I don't have to do as much shopping when the weather turns nasty for days on end. You don't want to have to make a trip shopping if you get too much snow or have hurricane force winds that flip vehicles. This year where I live we had an unusual ice storm in April, hurricane force winds in April and May where one of the highways was closed because it was too dangerous to drive because of winds. The kicker was there was no weather forcast for those winds and no hurricane on the weather radar. It came all of a sudden out of the blue. I have never seen anything as bizarre as that. The weather is becoming extremely weird, violent and erratic.

By the way, we had several strong tornadoes touching down this fall in places where tornadoes rarely ever hit never mind several big ones all at once.

Yes, just a little early. In fact, I've never seen it snow this early in the past two decades here. Nothing but long roads and farm animals where I live. And I thought it was cold last year. If it's already starting, it's going to be cold here.

It's pretty darn cold here in OK City too. I haven't even turned on the heat as I don't know how much that'll cost me in natural gas, and I don't know what the bare minimum heater temperature is for a house too.

That is early, two years ago when I was still there the Windows were still open a few inches even at Christmas.
