Record Cold This Winter Predicted by NASA Scientist

That is early, two years ago when I was still there the Windows were still open a few inches even at Christmas.

I knew instantly that this winter will be brutal when I was out walking in October. There was coldness or dampness that went straight to my bones even though it was 10 degrees above freezing it felt like it was freezing out. I am stocking up non perishable stuff so I don't have to do as much shopping when the weather turns nasty for days on end. You don't want to have to make a trip shopping if you get too much snow or have hurricane force winds that flip vehicles. This year where I live we had an unusual ice storm in April, hurricane force winds in April and May where one of the highways was closed because it was too dangerous to drive because of winds. The kicker was there was no weather forcast for those winds and no hurricane on the weather radar. It came all of a sudden out of the blue. I have never seen anything as bizarre as that. The weather is becoming extremely weird, violent and erratic.

By the way, we had several strong tornadoes touching down this fall in places where tornadoes rarely ever hit never mind several big ones all at once.

I agree with HighImpactFlix as he talks about natural and manmade weather patterns. I agree with him that evidence is showing with the natural weather patterns that we may very well be going into an ice age, and sadly enough this ice age may happen abruptly.

Such as a dozen or less Winters will progressively or randomly become brutal, but one Winter will just plain be like The Day After Tomorrow and that will be a Winter that will seem to never go away for years, decades, centuries, or even thousands of years. One thing is certain the way things are going Humanity in it's present state will most definitely not survive an ice age.

There are 7 billion plus people on this planet and most live in cities so if an ice age hits most people will be screwed since they are not self sufficient and don't own their own land nor do they have the financial means and space to prep for a coming ice age. This is a coming nightmare.

It's pretty darn cold here in OK City too. I haven't even turned on the heat as I don't know how much that'll cost me in natural gas, and I don't know what the bare minimum heater temperature is for a house too.

Oklahoma, Pottawatomie County, here too. We have natural gas too. Don't let it get too cold, like the 50's in your home. The walls and floor could be a lot colder and your pipes could freeze...

We keep our home around 70-72 F, and natural gas bill is not that much.

Make sure you turn on a few faucets so that the water doesn't freeze in your pipes.

Snowed in the Detroit area last night. We usually dont' get our first snow until at least close to American Thanksgiving.

For the last month or so temperatures have been lower than normal as well. I deliver papers every night so I keep track of the low temperature each night so I know how to dress.

It's been a lot colder the last couple of months than the same time last year.

This is a great thing... if you have a warm house to go to and live in.

North Western Europe will be worst affected. Its all about the sun spots interaction, or lack of, with the north Atlantic jet stream.
