A hot January across much of Australia followed a record warm December for maximum, minimum and mean temperatures for the country. The maximum anomaly for last month was 2.41 degrees, area-averaged for Australia, eclipsing the 2.3-degree previous record set in 1972, the bureau said.

The departure from the norm was even more significant for minimums, with the 1.85-degree anomaly beating the previous high, also in 1972, by 0.63 degrees.

It's getting hotter and colder at the same time. There are currently 45 sunspots on the active sun

This is one of the most important "soft disclosures" to
come out of alternative science groups in a very long time.
Even Ben Davidson of Suspicious Observers fame is picking
up on it and running a series on it this past month. There
are long versions of the Solar Micro-nova Theory, but this
is a good one to just get your feet wet. Oh, and by the
way...Dr Vogt suggests that this could happen in ONE DAY
...not several hundred years or even months. So, it is
well worth understanding given what we have just witnessed
with the Polar Vortex.

Personally I think that all this talk about solar micronova is baseless fear mongering to boost viewers. Same goes for those pushing that we are in a solar grand minimum. Time will tell

Brace Yourself, The Polar Vortex Is Shifting

a new study shows that the polar vortex is shifting, and it's going to make winters on the east coast of the US and parts of Europe even longer, with exceptionally cold temperatures expected during March.

But not many people realise there are actually two polar vortices: the stratospheric polar vortex, which is about 19,800 metres (65,000 feet) above the surface of the Earth; and the tropospheric polar vortex around 5,500 to 9,100 metres (18,000 to 30,000 feet) above the surface.

Usually, when the weather forecasters are talking about the polar vortex, they're referring to the tropospheric vortex, which is the one that rips apart and plunges cold air towards mid-latitude cities, such as New York.

But this study looked at the stratospheric polar vortex, which can have a bigger, but more subtle effect on mid-latitude weather.

After looking at satellite data over the past three decades, the team showed that the stratospheric polar vortex has gradually been moving towards the Eurasian continent, and getting weaker over the past 30 years.

Maybe it's also related to the magnetic pole shift, you never know...

Also I don't see how an ice age can come to be without something blocking out the sun for a prolonged period

Like the Greenland (31km) crater suggests from around 12,000 years ago

Interesting video, sounds plausible but I don't buy it. There is no evidence that a micronova will occur anytime in the near future

Sorry to read this, Jake. Time to be picking up a lot of cold weather gear - you might be able to get it cheaper and more easily in SC than in Michigan!
