Hahahaha :-)
I enjoyed that kind of frustration - i still enjoy it at times waiting for reality to catch up with the rhythm.

Speaking of quantum engineers...
Would quantum leaps produce ripples to amplify a movement ?
I'll think of that on my way to work :-)

And i have a few more questions for later.
Take care

Interesting question. How are you defining glitch exactly? Are the systems in question strictly logical ones? Your comment about the tapestry of zeroes and ones makes me think you're talking about the binary system specifically.

In formal proofs of logic and mathematics, glitches (if defined as a kind of malfunction) would result in reductio ad absurdum (absurdity, that is). But some philosophers suggest contradiction and absurdity are intrinsic and necessary features of living systems (which oppose and defy the rational norms of scientific and logical systems). Hegel actually has a good conception of this idea. I've been meaning to look into it.

I'm going to be all over the place today, so I won't be able to engage with any kind of punctuality or consistency. But I'll be back!

Re: Glitch in the system
While the data from just one telescope seemed to suggest that alpha varies in time, data from the two telescopes show that alpha also seems to vary in space. Such a discovery could have major implications, starting with shattering the basic assumption that physical laws are the same everywhere in the universe. The results also violate the Einstein Equivalence Principle, and suggest that the universe may be much larger than currently thought – or even infinite in size. If alpha were just 4% bigger or smaller than it is, stars wouldn’t be able to make carbon and oxygen, which would have made it impossible for life as we know it to exist. One intriguing possible implication is that the fine-structure constant is continuously varying in space, and seems fine-tuned for life in our neighborhood of the universe.

“There is no need to suppose that all the laws of nature sprang into being fully formed at the moment of the Big Bang, like a kind of cosmic Napoleonic code, or that they exist in a metaphysical realm beyond time and space…If we want to stick to the idea of natural laws, we could say that as nature itself evolves, the laws of nature also evolve, just as human laws evolve over time. But then how would natural laws be remembered or enforced? The law metaphor is embarrassingly anthropomorphic. Habits are less human-centred. Many kinds of organisms have habits, but only humans have laws.” –Rupert Sheldrake

No one has ever seen a perfect circle, nor a perfectly straight line, yet everyone knows what a circle and a straight line are.
Perceived circles or lines are not exactly circular or straight, and true circles and lines could never be detected since by definition they are sets of infinitely small points.

So about the binary and the tapestry of zeroes and ones - i'll try to explain my pov, but bare with me because the mind is scattered all over the places today.

So...

Binary systems are the integral part of the foundation of all systems and all systems can be reduced to a binary system - and beyond that into an unitary system as the primary source.

Remember the line from the Transformation of the Dao ? (or Tao if you prefer to read it as Tao te Ching)
"The Dao produced One; One produced Two; Two produced Three;
Three produced All things."

Dao is the unitary system from which binary rises.
Binary is needed for motion to occur and from the binary (yin/yang) the trinity system is born as the harmonizer which would unfold all other kind of systems.

Now... what are these systems made of ?
Information.
And what's the basic representation used for the information flux ? Zeroes and ones (bipolar basics for reasonable thought too, the "false" and "true" of IT basics are the same conditionals in the human brains reasoning modules).
All the realities we walk through are nothing but tapestries of zeroes and ones.
All systems ca be reduce to that and we as humans are nothing but information given shape through and by the flux caught in the receptors of our senses.

A glitch in one system would have causes and effects in all systems even if we like to extract one system from the other and analyze it alone, disregarding the interconnectivity between all that is.

The easiest way for me to define a glitch would be "accident" (and i think is the proper way to word it even etymologically speaking).

Like you know... One is an abstract form of 0.(9).
The 0.(1) which remains to attain the absolute form of One, is the Glitch.
(if that makes any sense...)

chuckle

I hope that you have an enjoyable day, hon.
And am waiting for your input which i always find interesting and gets me on fascinating venues hf

When the only constant in the universe or sensed reality is change, all variables may vary, of course.

Thank you for the video hf
That's an interesting subject.

137 is a spectral number - meaning that it refers to light and it encodes in itself the visible light spectrum on which we build our visual perception.
And as perception is the also the axis of projection, all the universe that we project and perceive is built in the magic of 137.

I'm comfortable with the idea of binary systems representing the informational content of the material world. Information forms the basis of our reality. Agreed. My concern is that information, as well as our reality, transcends the physical realm. Particles, force-fields, and everything about them can be drawn out by 'yes or no' or 'true or false' choices and expressed in binary code. But the binary choices of logical systems have a hard time expressing experiential content like feelings and emotions. This aspect of human reality exists in a qualitative multiplicity and cannot be bound to numerical systems. Because we're then talking about quality, not quantity. Qualities only come in varying degrees of limitless intensity, not absolute polarities.

Do we have consciousness, or does consciousness have us? Hard to say. Though I suspect the latter, and that the physical realm is really just an out-picturing of consciousness. The map, not the territory, so to speak.

So, what is interesting is that these non-material qualities do have physical representations in our biological systems. I'm thinking about neuropeptides in particular (the molecules of emotion). They have been shown to operate non-locally. Just as information has been shown to operate non-locally. Meaning, information, even bio-molecular information, is not bound to time, space, matter, or energy. It transcends the code.

Information, limited to neither mind (non-physical realm) nor body (physical realm), though it impresses itself onto both realms, seems to bridge the Cartesian gap between the mind and body. Maybe. Information coming from the non-physical (which transcends binary choices) to the physical (encapsulated by binary choices) could very well look like a glitch. Rapid or instant evolution, for instance. Could that be considered a glitch? I don't know. I don't think such phenomena could be an accident or malfunction. But I do think popular science and a variety of moralists would definitely perceive it that way.

I have done a terrible job of presenting my thoughts here. I am tired and drinking chianti. I will return (hopefully tomorrow) with some empirical evidence of bio-molecular non-locality and its theoretical implications. I'll also try and clarify my mess of ramblings above.

Soon, soon.
