What are the reasons for with a glitch may occur in the system ?

And...

Can a glitch be of any benefit for the system ?

Re: Glitch in the system
After going over the origins and various ways people use the word, I think I'd define 'glitch' as a deviation from an anticipated order. This is neutral enough to allow any given glitch to be evaluated for positive or negative value according to its context. The common definitions of malfunction or error, on the other hand, suggest inherent negativity. I think glitches, or unanticipated deviations, can be beneficial to systems. It's observer-dependent and situational, I suppose.

I brought up binary systems before, because a glitch there isn't the same as a glitch elsewhere. Boolean algebra is rigid enough to define glitches within its formal language as problematic. Even if the problem leads to a silver lining in some other system, it is still an error within the confines of that particular system.

Two-value Boolean algebra, or true/false propositional logic, is what computer programs use to perform their functions. These systems are not subject to the second law of thermodynamics. That law only applies to isolated systems. We have no actual experience with isolated systems in our reality. They're hypothetical. The systems we observe and collect data on tend to interact with other systems. Some more dependent on outside systems than others. This makes the question of glitches even more complex.

I'll leave the emotional part out for now and share a thought or two on the "technical" or "logical" side of it.

First of all, i like the "deviation from an anticipated order" way of defining it - very political correct, hehehe :-)

However... after pondering on this "issue' i came to the conclusion that the deviation is the effect caused by the glitch but not the glitch per se.
Bare with me for i will try to explain my pov as proper as i can :-)
In my understanding there are 3 phases which we compress in this "glitch" term: the root, the effect and the outcome.
What is mostly talked of is the outcome and sometimes the effect comes into view as an explanation for the outcome - but none is said about the root.
So, i prefer to call the root of the event as the glitch (as being the cause of the effect), deviation or anomaly from or in an anticipated order as the effect, and the outcome we can call it... accident (or maybe we can call it "shit happens")

Now, where from come this glitch ?
There is an anticipated order as you said, so there should be no reason for the glitch to occur as everything was sorted out and ordered as it should according to the system's function(s).
Here comes the funny part: all systems are written/ordered on an already existent platform - or base.
That platform is sustaining all ordered information which the system needs - but systems come and go, one system is erased to make space for another system to arrange its variables into needed information. What happens with the information from the previous system when it is erased ? It doesn't disappear, is just moved from the main layer to a sub-layer (or extra-layer if you prefer).
The process of erasing/formatting is not absolute in accuracy, thus bits of information from the previous system which was erased would survive in the information of the new system which is installed. Like a sort of "ghost memory".

The rest you can imagine, or i can draw it in a pittoresque manner after i'll make a coffee.

How did I miss this thread? Lol Are you sure it’s a “glitch” and not some code outdating your code or program overlap? Viruses/bugs can also be glitchy. Guess I need more information to have a better answer .

Well, explained few posts above how a "glitch" comes to be.
Not entirely explained because i thought it is deductible (and i was also distracted by other things so i didn't explain it further).

Difference between a glitch and a virus consists in predictability.
A virus works on a predictable written model while a glitch rather improvises through randomness.

This might need clarifications at a random moment in time

Oh. Well forgive my laziness for not reading above then.
Just let the glitch do it’s random glitch thing as long as it isn’t hurting your program

It’s growing in pages. Still need to go have more experiences to add more to the story. It’s getting there though which is what matters.

As if it can be stopped from happening...

Honestly speaking, i enjoy the glitch. Even the Vanellope one.
Speaking of that movie... V being the glitch, R would be the deviation / anomaly who works hand in hand with her and the rest of the movie is whatever mess they can make together.
But that's a cartoonish way to express it.

Glad to hear that the book is coming up nicely.
Winter is here and there are possibilities at hands to lay down a story that i've started few years ago so that its characters can awake from their cold sparkling wonderland slumber.

Sounds fun. Like a matter/antimatter tag team.. You give me a good story idea actually. I’ll have to write it down.

Winter is a great time for rebirth/awakening. It really sets the scene/mood. I know you won’t make it cheesy and will throw in some danger and plot twists leaving readers on the edge of their seat. Also humor...lots of humor :) I would love to read it...when it’s finished of course. We could switch books and perhpas they may even intertwine in some parallel way.

I can picutre it now. A tale of espionage/sci fi set in the backdrop of a snow covered wonderland. Make sure to add a polar bear though every story needs a beautiful view of nature . Hehe

(Waves) Have a beautiful day

Re: Glitch in the system
On the morning of November 11, just before 9:30 UT, a mysterious rumble rolled around the world.

The seismic waves began roughly 15 miles off the shores of Mayotte, a French island sandwiched between Africa and the northern tip of Madagascar. The waves buzzed across Africa, ringing sensors in Zambia, Kenya, and Ethiopia. They traversed vast oceans, humming across Chile, New Zealand, Canada, and even Hawaii nearly 11,000 miles away.

These waves didn't just zip by; they rang for more than 20 minutes. And yet, it seems, no human felt them.
