Re: Glitch in the system

Well, explained few posts above how a "glitch" comes to be.
Not entirely explained because i thought it is deductible (and i was also distracted by other things so i didn't explain it further).

Difference between a glitch and a virus consists in predictability.
A virus works on a predictable written model while a glitch rather improvises through randomness.

This might need clarifications at a random moment in time chuckle

Hey, how is going ?
Book grows its pages ?
:-)

Gotta catch a date with the sleepmaster.

Oh. Well forgive my laziness for not reading above then.
Just let the glitch do it’s random glitch thing as long as it isn’t hurting your program chuckle

It’s growing in pages. Still need to go have more experiences to add more to the story. It’s getting there though which is what matters.

Honestly speaking, i enjoy the glitch. Even the Vanellope one.
Speaking of that movie... V being the glitch, R would be the deviation / anomaly who works hand in hand with her and the rest of the movie is whatever mess they can make together.
But that's a cartoonish way to express it.

Glad to hear that the book is coming up nicely.
Winter is here and there are possibilities at hands to lay down a story that i've started few years ago so that its characters can awake from their cold sparkling wonderland slumber.

Sounds fun. Like a matter/antimatter tag team.. You give me a good story idea actually. I’ll have to write it down.

Winter is a great time for rebirth/awakening. It really sets the scene/mood. I know you won’t make it cheesy and will throw in some danger and plot twists leaving readers on the edge of their seat. Also humor...lots of humor :) I would love to read it...when it’s finished of course. We could switch books and perhpas they may even intertwine in some parallel way. chuckle

I can picutre it now. A tale of espionage/sci fi set in the backdrop of a snow covered wonderland. Make sure to add a polar bear though every story needs a beautiful view of nature . Hehe

(Waves) Have a beautiful day

I can disclose that the story starts in an heavenly wonderland star island racing through the night - however, the island turned off its guiding beam signaling from the lighthouse due to circumstances i can't disclose atm, so it plunged into a frozen winterland guarded and kept on a leisure course only by Will the Dragon and a couple of deers who were too stubborn to hibernate like the rest. Crazy thing happened though - the lighthouse woke up by itself and started to signal a glitching beam through the sector of the universe where the island was traversing so Will the Dragon has to wake up the crew and find a way to force the hand of the Captain to steer the tesseract engine and decide a course.
The rest is... suspense.

Reminds me of a poem i wrote a couple years ago. The lighthouse of course ;)

A lighthouse amongst the darkness of a sea it sits
The stairs are all weathered and torn from the storms
The walls are filled with moss and dents
Yet there it stands
A beacon beckoning
With light that shines brighter than a harvest moon
As the starry night shines down against the deep blue sea
The moon watches over the lighthouse which watches over me :)

Re: Glitch in the system
On the morning of November 11, just before 9:30 UT, a mysterious rumble rolled around the world.

The seismic waves began roughly 15 miles off the shores of Mayotte, a French island sandwiched between Africa and the northern tip of Madagascar. The waves buzzed across Africa, ringing sensors in Zambia, Kenya, and Ethiopia. They traversed vast oceans, humming across Chile, New Zealand, Canada, and even Hawaii nearly 11,000 miles away.

These waves didn't just zip by; they rang for more than 20 minutes. And yet, it seems, no human felt them.

What are the reasons for with a glitch may occur in the system ?

And...

Can a glitch be of any benefit for the system ?

It reminded me of a chapter i have written years ago about a signal travelling the galaxy as an echo from a misplaced memory which eventually was caught by the earth's surveillance system and helped someone regain a piece of his missing memory.

And a song which didn't make much sense at that moment because of the strange geography.

Hiya Sib hf

Thank you for the Thanksgiving wishes. It was a gluttonous day filled with family and friends. There was leisurely napping even. Very nice. Hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving too, and that it's been a beautiful week :)

Jumping back in (and backing up a little). The article I posted earlier traces the semantic history of the word ‘glitch’ to a quote from astronaut John Glenn in 1962. It’s the oldest example of the word (in indexed print). It says:

“Literally, a glitch is a spike or change in voltage in an electrical circuit which takes place when the circuit suddenly has a new load put on it.”

Voltage is "the pressure from an electrical circuit's power source that pushes charged electrons (current) through a conducting loop, enabling them to do work such as illuminating a light."

I like the astronaut’s definition of glitch. It also seems like a good metaphor for certain kinds of energetic phenomena taking place between the physical and non-physical realms. A sudden surge of source energy. The intrusion of non-local wave patterns. Divergent information signals. The resulting interference being described as slips, malfunctions, accidents, deviations, etc. But, you're absolutely right. These definitions only describe our perception of what glitches do, not what glitches are.

I suspect the fundamental nature of glitch power will continue to elude scientific observation and rational description in our interactive modes of reality. The phenomenon can’t be abstracted or labeled. Boundaries (like abstractions) are needed to gain knowledge of movement, interaction, and creative expression. But source power still transcends these perceptual, rational, and linguistic boundaries. This might explain why uniquely expressive modes of metaphorical communication in art and spirituality are better at communicating source information than formal systems of symbolic language (like Boolean algebra or binary code).

Sudden shifts in electrical currents (and their glitchy outcomes) reminds me of the uncertainty principle. The lack of precision in our living systems (or any wave-like system) makes theories of hard determinism seem unlikely. The plausibility of creative will, on the other hand, is strengthened by the existence of sudden power fluctuations, spontaneous interference, and glitchy information signals. We’re connected to a power source beyond the circuit boundaries of locally observed systems. It's kind of a big deal. But popular scientists and institutional philosophers remain unimpressed. The taint of reductionist materialism.

I think the paradigm is shifting, though. Glitch power afro

More to say. More links to post. Please pardon the delays. My schedule is in hyper-drive right now. But I'll definitely be back!
