I always think of Muse as a failure. Like they were given a mission from the universe and they just weren't good enough to pull it off. Some fun songs but they're a mere shadow of what they should be. We have different opinions on this :-) I like Muse for their adaptability to the moment and for a few other reasons. You see it as failure because you had or have certain expectations regarding a direction on which their music should expand according to your perception of universe's wish, while the universe may just have some fun on behalf of your perception  I have a serious question now: What band would you recommend to be given a mission from the universe ?
