Got me lookin at pics.... You live close to the coast? I bet that place is a hot tourist spot year round I live about 60 miles from the coast. But Slovenian coast is not that popular as Croatian. Its more quite part only 15 miles long with only one real beach resort. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 77620596 United States 06/18/2019 07:30 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You're from Virginia MoN? I got family in Massachussets(?) somewhere. My father's two cousins that I never met. I got my late granny sister in Vancouver as well and auntie from Sweden. Auntie from Sweden was just visiting last week, she brought me swedish marmalede jam. Quoting: Matjaz My family immigrated quite a bit I'd say. I mean these are pretty much the only ones that went out, exodus to Sweden happened cause my uncle something fell in love there Yup, born in raised in Virginia. Lived 23 miles ( as the crow flies) from Washington D.C. for most of my life. Down just south of Richmond currently. VA is okay... lots of history. I got family in Mass as well, just outside of Boston. I got family all up and down the east coast of the states. You should make the trip and come visit those cousins - i bet that'd be pretty fun! I have distant, DISTANT relatives still in Scotland on my moms side. I'd love to go one of these years. I missed my chance to go to Europe a few years back... My buddy worked for Air France and could get 90% off the tickets for himself and 9 friends and i couldn't get off of work :angryhomer: I'm mostly Scottish/Irish and Hollandish (? lol ) My grandfather spent a lot of money researching our lineage, he found out we are directly related to a once Chief of the Lenape native american tribe. Cool to think my blood has been on this land for a long time |

Most of the Gulf of Trieste should be yours hahahah That's cool ya live that close. I'm about an hour and a half from Virginia beach, but it isn't anything special at all. The Outer Banks in North Carolina though.... my favorite beaches in the world. One lane road north, the other south - sand on both sides. |

Cool to think my blood has been on this land for a long time Oh yea, you are close to the coast. I never imagined Washington so close to the sea. Man, you watch these maps up close and its all different as you imagine in your mind lol I think biggest expense with Europe trip is the plane ticket, specially if you head for eastern Europe. Americans with their purchasing power would went through vacation for free practically with our prices. If you plan Europe plan east. There's no difference from west except for the glorious history I suppose. Easterners were never much of a colonizers and our royalty didn't had that much power, so aside from that cities are as big and vibrant as in the west just not that much historical important maybe. Big maybe :) |

And that tiny branch is the only remnant of Venetian republic era. Italians used to own whole Adriatic coast and they fought at least two major wars since to get it back. City of Trieste is full of Slavs and the surrounding towns on the hills around it are all ethnic Slovenian but the city itself never was Slavic. Italians and Austrians build it and we captured it once in the end of WW2 but gave it back :) |

I was just thinking about it coming from the store, here orange license plate is known indicator that the summer has started. Dutch are kind of a kings of the roads in Europe I think. They are the only ones who would travel on vacation 1000+ km with their car. Others just buy plane tickets. Its strange, you don't see them Belgians or Scandinavians. Do you think Belgians are vacating in Spain mostly? I never see any Belgian cars. Anyway, that's my random thought for the day, them Dutch and their cute Adria RV's. Quoting: Matjaz I love it how they choose Adria brand when buying their RV's. Dutch have reasons not to travel so much by plane when in vacation They can decorate the RV with them pots but they cannot decorate the airplane with them :P |

Pretty tripped out [link to www.youtube.com (secure)] They used a Phantom digital high-speed camera and paint. "Vision Research’s Phantom line of digital, high-speed cameras is used by scientists and engineers, film producers and even for military purposes. In the film industry, they are used for shooting special events scenes. The Phantom V12 camera was used to shoot the Discovery Channel documentary 'Time Warp', where an MIT professor shows, in slow motion, phenomena the human eye would not otherwise perceive (in video below) . The cameras shoot images in HD, 2K or 4K resolution at speeds greater than 150 fps that, when viewed at normal projection speeds, are super slow-motion."
