Howdy, lady!

Academic writing is the worst. I've been trained to write the same way (as you may have noticed). They broke me. Alas. Makes me extra appreciative you engage me, though :)

I don't think I had a question just yet. Or maybe I did. I guess I was trying to establish some grounds.

I want to know if we agree that understanding of phenomenological content comes from actively experiencing it. (though 'it' is not actually an it). Knowledge of symbols isn't the same as knowledge of what is being symbolized. The definition of music will not simulate the experience of hearing music, for instance.

Also wondering if we agree that truth is the correct standard for scientific and philosophical inquiry.

The latter claim seem obvious. But, still, there's a whole school of philosophers in the academy who believe truth is nothing more than myth and that there is no point to reasoning. There are also many academics who believe knowing language is synonymous with knowing experience. I try and get these issues out of the way before engaging. If we can't agree on an epistemic groundwork, we won't get anywhere meaningful.

If we're gonna be talking stuff like God and Ego Death, we're gonna need some solid ground ;)

Baikonur Cosmodrome was the first spaceport.
Although there are a few non public ones, Baikonur remains the first one of public knowledge.

Hopefully the siberian Vostochny will become as notorious as the kazakh one some of these days :-)
